21 years ago I heard my wife sing it and said "some day I'm gonna marry that gal". Here goes.

Bonanza

The claim we hold is as good as gold
Bonanza
Hand in hand we built this land
The Ponderosa Ranch

Our birthright is this Cartwright
Bonanza
We here belong and standing strong,
Wrong ain't got a chance

Day by day, work or play
Ready side by side
Hello friend, come on in,
The gate is open wide.
Bound to be and fighting free
Bonanza
Singing pines the boundary lines to
The Ponderosa Ranch

Every tree and flower is part of our
Bonanza
The stars at night, morning light,
water in the branch

We ride along bold and strong together
Every plain and ridge is our heritage
The Ponderosa Ranch

Day by day, work or play
Ready side by side
Hello friend, come on in,
The gate is open wide.
Bound to be and fighting free
Bonanza
Singing pines the boundary lines to
The Ponderosa Ranch

Here's Lorne Greene's version of it!

BONANZA
As recorded by Lorne Greene
Writers: J. Livingston and R. Evans

We chased lady luck, where we finally struck - Bonanza!
With a gun and a rope and a hat full of hope
We planted our family tree.

We got ahold of a pot full of gold - Bonanza!
With a horse and a saddle and a range full of cattle
How rich can a felow be?

On this land we put our brand - Cartwright is the name
Fortune smiled the day we filed the Ponderosa claim
Here in the west we're livin in the best - Bonanza!
If anyone fights anyone of us, he's gotta fight with me.

Hoss and Joe and Adam know - ev'ry rock and pine
No one works, fights or eats - like those boys of mine
Here we stand in the middle of a grand - Bonanza!
With a gun and a rope and a hat full of hope
We planted our family tree.

We got ahold of a pot full of gold - Bonanza!
With a house full of friends where the rainbow ends
How rich can a felow be?

On this land we put our brand - Cartwright is the name
Fortune smiled the day we filed the Ponderosa claim
Here in the west were livin' in the best - Bonanza!
The friendliest, fightin'est, lovin'est man
That ever set foot in the promised land
And we're happier than them all
That's why we call - it - Bonanza!
Bonanza!
Bonanza!
BONANZA!

Am I missing something here, the version I have in print goes something like:

We got a right to pick a little fight, Bonanza
Anyone of us who picks a little fight knows he can count on me,
Four (All?) for one, one for four, this we guarantee,
We got a right to pick a little fight, Bonanza
Anyone of us who picks a little fight knows he can count on me.

Not sure whether there is more. As a kid I always thought that this was clearly the Cartwright's Mission Statement. I am moderately certain that I had the above version in print a few years before Lorne Greene started warbling, but I wouldn't bet a sheep station on it. I'll check it out.

Regards
John

RE: Bonanza...
I have seen variations to many songs
and often the [recorded version]
may differ GREATLY from the sheet music...

I also have a version by Johnny Cash
will have to find it and compare.
The version was transcribed from
the referenced LP by Lorne Green
which also contains the story of the Ponderosa
and several other songs of the west.

You can listen to this version of Bonanza-
