Well we're getting round to that time of year again, so Essex Girl and myself are extending our usual invitation to come and drink, eat, make music, sing etc at our place:

12 Porcupine Close, Mottingham (near Eltham), SE9 3AE. (map here)
On Sunday 26th June from 2pm onwards until we're all too sozzled or tired to carry on any more.

It'll be our usual well-tested "Bring it and Burn it" format, where we expect you to bring whatever you want to barbecue (Meat, Fish, Veggie, Road Kill etc - no garden or household rubbish though !) and we supply pitta/bread, salad, and other accompaniments. I shall also be supplying 10 gals of beer from the famous (or should it be infamous) Porcupine Brewery.

We look forward to seeing you in your usual hordes.

PS Have you spotted my customary deliberate mistake yet ? - there always is one.

It's the start to a song Dave:-

Come and dine, at the BBQ'ine
Down at the famous Porcupine

We've also added to our famous herd of Gazebos. One of the originals died last year and another was looking rather tired after a constant errection for over six months, so we've aquired two more (green and white) youngsters to help strengthen the breed.

BTW John - will you be able to get there this year ?

Hi Dave,

Thank you for your invite - Will be careful not to fall in the pond again. Or did I imagine it. Must have been something to do with the famous Porcupine tree brewery special I consumed last year.

No doubt see you before the day.

Dave

We will be there Dave pending that all hangovers from Knockholt are dealt with.
We may even be able to bring some leftover beer to the barbie rather than the other way round but that is very doubtful :-)

Us folkies are far too polite to make ethnic jokes, chinaman. Besides we know only too well what it's like to be the subject (old men in Arran sweaters; finger-in-esr; and suchlike).

I do LIKE sweet &sour chicken tho'.

Well it's less than a week away now, so I thought I ought to refresh the thread. Let's hope that the warm spell lasts, but perhaps a bit cooler. The "Knockers" beer turned out very well at Knockholt last weekend, and I've got 5 gals of a similiar brew for the BBQ plus another 5 of what should be a rather fine lighter bitter.

Hope to see you all in your usual numbers inclusing quite a few extras we invited at Knockholt.

Don Thompson (Wyziwyg) is going to bring a pre-release copy of the sequel CD to "Guide Cats for the Blind" - celebrities reading Les Barker poems. The latest CD, "GUIDE CATS VOLUME 2, The Missing Persian Files" should be available in August, but you can have chamce to hear some of it on Sunday.

LTS might have to be gagged though, to prevent annoyance to the neighbours - or perhaps we can distract her with a large chocolate cake.

Thanks to everyone who came for making it such a wonderful afternoon, evening . . and early morning - after lighting the patio heater we didn't get indoors until after midnight. Especial thanks to Girl Friday for organising the performers, Dilligaf for helping with the clearing up, and to Richard Bridge for climbing up a ladder to get the PA speaker down. I don't think we've ever had so much music and song at one of our BBQs before.

Dave Kenningham seems to have switched the photo to one of Knockholt - although he still claims that it's the BBQ.

MMario - Richard (Fisheye) takes photo professionally so he tends to plaster his ladybug logo over any of them which he displays online.
