Some of the older Folkies may remember the halcyon days of the 60's and 70s when the excellent North-Eastern traditional harmony group Pegleg Ferret were struttin' their stuff around the clubs and festivals. Many may probably know that the three guys got back together a couple of years ago and are doing it again. Well, they're in Sheffield on Tuesday 17th May, at Kiveton Park Folk Club, so, for a blast from the past, some great harmony singing and rousing choruses, pay us (and them)a visit.

Did you know that Killamarsh (just down the road from Kiveton ) is the ferret capital of the South Riding?

Seriously, Kiveton is a great club, excellent singing, brilliant atmosphere, friendly people, me.

Don't live in Sheffield, but i saw Pegleg Ferret up in the Northeast about a year ago. Brilliant! I envy those who are able to get to this gig. Take yer best chorus-singing voices along.

I've never heard of Pegleg Ferret before this thread, but it does sound good â€" and Kiveton is always a good sing. I might just have to 'make the trip' (all the way to the 'other' end of Sheffield!) for this one...

Go for it Yankee.
I heard them twice at Holmfirth Festival: their midnight Song, Story & Supper session and a set in the final concert.
Wide repertoire of traditional and industrial songs; engaging stage presence; tightest harmonies at the festival.

Wish I could be in Sheffield for this gig.
