I haven't seen/heard Bill play in too many years. Wish I lived near there.

I'll have the pleasure of seeing Bill again TOMORROW (June 2nd)!!!! He'll be in Blythville, Arkansas, at a place called That Bookstore In Blythville. Yes, that's its name. Starts at 7:00 PM. I'll be relaying greetings from Seamus Kennedy. Anybody within 100 miles should try to go. Bill is worth the trip.

Thanks for the additional info.

People over the pond please note: the "th" in Blythville is silent.

Thank you very much, Jim. Bill is one helluva singer/writer. Seems as age takes it toll on so many voices, his just gets better. I love his last CD: the songs are touching and his phrasing is remarkable. Whew. You don't know how much I hope he comes to Canada--preferably somewhere I can go to see him. I haven't heard him live since about 1972(?) in Montreal. Audiences there loved his work. Always a full house--standing room only--and darned little of that.

A full house would be really nice in Kansas City, but unfortunately, the paper cannot give traditional music any publicity. They only have three categories in the entertainment calendar - classical, jazz and rock. Anybody whose music doesn't fit in one of these categories is just supposed to go away.

They did give a line to the band Flook. They put them under the plays.

Bruce, I mentioned your "regards" to Bill and he sort of lit up when I mentioned your name. "Yeah, I know him---I recorded one of his songs! The last time I saw him was back in........" and so on. He then told me about a recording that you, he, and a small group of others had made that had to do with singer/songwriters. He was pleased to hear from you, even indirectly.
Seamus, he had about the same reaction to your "regards". He proceeded to tell about the Alaska adventure in which he, you, and a PRIEST! closed up a local watering hole. Not too many details, but, hey, I have and imagination.   :-D    Jim

Jim, thanks.
I was really glad that story didn't make it into his book! Oh boy...
Bill is a truly gifted songwriter and performer, and it's a delight to hear him.

Seamus

I have been able to spend time with Bill on about a dozen occasions. I and my co-hosts were able to host him for two concerts in Cape Girardeau; I attended his concert in Carbondale, Illinois; I have had supper after several of his concerts Blythville, Arkansas (where he appears every year). If it sounds like I'm boasting---You bet I am!!!!! What a treat to sit with him and others and be privy to anecdotes about his travels and all the wonderful people he's met. It gives an insight into the life of a "road warrior" that is priceless. And what a nice guy!
