Blimey - TDL do The Troggs

I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my toes.
There's Leopards all around us, and so their fame just grows.

Trevor as a caveman - - - - would he have to drag you round by the hair Sue?

I suggest that you need to take care to distinguish between Sue wiggling her butt and vice versa.

If you are going to do "caveman" you are absolutely going to have to play the Flintstones theme, and how about the Jimmy Castor Bunch hit "Troglodyte Stomp"?

Where's Breezy? Have I upset him, or can't he cope with the cut and thrust of this thread? I suspect a plot, and cheating to get this thread up to 300. Trevor desperately wants a leopard skin leotard, although he really, really fancies a caveman outfit. Anyone want to make him one? I must sign off now, as I have to go wave my sexy butt. It makes a great sunshade or fan! If Breezy was here, he could live up to his name and cool us all down. Phew!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now there is a very interestin' bit of weather lore concerning the
Isle Of Wight.

Ye knaa the sort of thing... 'Red sky at night, Shepherds delight (or his hoose in on fire)...' 'If the coos lie doon it's ganna thunder' etc

Well here in the sooth we say
"If ye can see the Isle Of Wight, it's ganna rain - If ye cannit see the Isle Of Wight, it's aalready rainin'!!"

I was talking to Eddie's Missus just yesterday. She says she does know about it. Reckons there's lots of it going on around The Solent. Surely she means the Isle of Wight.

Aah think that the original term was 'Lie-abed' which then became 'layabout' which hoys the argument back in the other corner.

Aah love aall this 'edifying' - Does Eddie's missus knaah aboot it??

Taalkin' of words which spring from other (mispronoonced?) words - How aboot...

John Prescott - The Original (Olde English) term was "lyin',cheatin', fornicatin', fat bastard!!!" but that has slipped into history!

The verb "to lay" is transitive.

I think you mean "lying about in trees", the verb "to lie" being intransitive."

Odd though, isn't it, that the word used to describe a lazy person should be "LAYabout"

Tone Deaf Leopard wish to apologise for their grammatical incorrectness. They have, of course, Richard, been lying, not laying, especially as they are cats, and not birds or snakes. Hope you had a good time at Doddington. Best place for you in the circumstances, obviously, oh - and stop telling our audience that they can go elsewhere. Thankfully, melodeonboy did his own thing, AND he may return next week- so there! Thankyou Andy for the kind comments. Thanks for the brill job you did with hosting our gig. It couldn't have been easy fitting in all those floor singers.

I must leap to the defence of the Leppards. The glam folk revival started in Orpington circa midsummer 2005. I'll be able to tell my grandchildren I was there for this momentous moment in history. Before the glam folk bubble bursts catch them at Orpington Friday Folk this Friday July 22nd. Wear something wild and prepare to be entertained!

At least I hope you mean that, as otherwise the mind boggles at the spectacle.

By 8.30 pm Friday I will be, I hope, in Doddington so I shall not be afraid.
