Subject: Best way to get word out about record? From: themutineer Date: 05 Jul 05 - 10:21 AM Good morning, My name is Stuart MacDonald and I've enjoyed this site for a long time. You've all been very helpful in the past and now I have a question regarding a new record I've made. My band, The Mutineers (www.themutineers.com) plays trditional folk and blues music in the southern Maine area. We have recorded our first cd and are getting ready to release it. The market, as many of you know, isn't geared towards this kind of musio, even though there are people who like it. What's your advice on the best ways to get the word out to people who might like to hear a record like this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Feedback on the website, etc. also welcome! From: GUEST,MMario Date: 05 Jul 05 - 10:31 AM among other things - find out where open mikes/sing arounds are held in your area and see what posters or flyers you can distribute through them! Chances are they will have concentrations of people who will enjoy your music. |
