I know asirovedout will be there and might go myself if not too tied up with house sales and not too tired out after my Irish Adventure at the begining of the month.   Only a few miles from where I live.   I assume there will be a reasonable turn out of the Sheffield mudcaters.

I'm planning to attend. It's a weekend of great music – I recommend it to fiends and friends alike!

Don't recognise any of the names on the list - where do they usually ply their trade? Are any of them from the Sheffield area?

Jim, they'll be from all over England (and Ireland), with Yorkshire and the Southwest strongly represented. There'll be many well-respected traditional singers and musicians there. Very friendly atmosphere.

If that's what you like, you can't go wrong

Will be there all day Sunday dressed as a fiend.

Heard many great reports about last year's First.

Just managed to turn on the computer after a really great weekend.

Managed to sell a few books and met some lovely people.

Three terrific talks, one from Ian Russell about "Bothy Ballads" - Vic and Tina Smith on the singer, Gordon Hall and Steve Gardham on "Yorkshire Garland".

Some great singers there who were in excellent form. Wonderful songs from the Irish contingent who were a superb addition addition to the whole thing. Great singing sessions in the Old Horns.

I also went to the music sessions in the Royal.

And the Ceilidh in the village hall with "Piper's Share"

What a great weekend. For a tenner. Fantastic.

Thanks Mark and Joan.

A great couple of days for me,a superb session at the Royal on Friday night.A very interesting talk on Concertina Reed making by Geoffrey Crabb and another good session in the afternoon again at the Royal.
It is not a Sidmouth,it will probably be one of the smallest Folk Weekends you may attend, but I have now been twice and enjoyed myself both times. If you like big concerts, big names and loads of choice this is not for you.If you like a small friendly group of like minded people in amongst stunning scenery on top of a Peak, with some friendly welcoming pubs for singing or music sessions then I would recommend this weekend.
Nice to see you again Dave and a lot of other friends.
Al
