Subject: Lyr Req: The Master of Blue Galilee From: GUEST Date: 31 Jul 05 - 04:44 PM I think Lester Roloff used to sing this song. It has some phrases in it that I only remember, such as "He's the Savior of men, and he's coming again . . . He's the Pearl of Great Price, he's the world's sacrifice, he's the Master of Blue Galilee" If anyone can help me with this I would certainly appreciate it. My email is dworley@memphis-umc.org Thanks |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Master of Blue Galilee From: GUEST,Guest Date: 04 Apr 07 - 12:18 AM Just to set the record straight. The title is "He's the Master of Blue Galilee" The copyright was recorded in 1949 by Wanda Faye Jaus, my Mother-in-law. Let me tell you the history of the song. Her son, Gordon was a 4 yr old child and very very ill. They didn't expect him to live thru the night, but as Wanda Faye prayed thru the night, God gave her this song, and in the morning Gordon's fever had broken and he was healed. She wrote many other songs, but this one was the most famous. She passed away last Wednesday. The funeral was April 2 2007 in Oakdale, CA. Her four children are here to celebrate her home-going. She was 90 years old and still writing lyrics and poems. A wonderful woman of God and a great example to many. If anyone would like a copy of the original sheet music, I would be happy to send it to you free of charge. musicwerks1@hotmail.com |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Master of Blue Galilee From: GUEST,Benjamin C. Jaus Date: 06 Apr 07 - 02:29 AM Mom wrote this song among many others and poems. Anyone that wants to talk about her or other songs she wrote feel free to contact me also at BENJAUS@aol.com. I don't think I have ever been to a Spiritual Homecoming like the one she had on her passing this week. I was her 'near perfect' son, google my name and you find my acting on Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum PI she loved to laugh about this. More that that she was a beacon that many looked to for spiritual Guidence and she loved everyone. A song she wrote in the 50's "I am moving home someday' was so much a part of the service. Kids, Grand kids, great grandkids there to say good bye. Mom's ministry changed over the years but was never deminished, she accepted life, death, change as a part of life. My own family has been in our own huddle this last week talking about 'Grandma' and how we could best give her a legacy with her passing, my gangs answer, to pull closer together as a family as a way of saying 'you influenced us with your life'. |
Subject: Lyr Add: I'M MOVING HOME SOMEDAY From: GUEST,Benjamin C. Jaus Date: 07 Apr 07 - 08:12 PM At Mom's memorial the words from another song she wrote was typed up into a bookmark and passed out to all of us. Thanks to my Sis's and their families for this effort. I am including the words to that song for others who might take solace in the words. I'M MOVING HOME SOMEDAY Here we often contemplate moving And the thought brings us heartaches and pain. When our loved ones we leave, at the parting we grieve, For we wonder if we will meet again. But I know that someday I'll be moving Where the sun shines brighter than day. Earth's sorrows will soon be forgotten. I'm moving up home some day. CHORUS: I'm moving up home where the trials never come, For my Savior is leading the way. All earth's trials will soon pass forever. I'm moving home someday. When I move, I'll not bother with packing, For He's promised a robe of pure white, And a crown then I'll wear With the saints over there, In that city where Christ is the light. Earthly treasures will lose all their value When I hear him say, "Child, come away." I'll drop all these flesh robes behind me, For I'm moving up home someday. There are loved ones awaiting my coming, Who have crossed over Jordan's rough tide. As redeemed they shall stand in the heavenly land, Close by my Savior's side. And sometimes when I'm longing to see them, It seems I can hear Jesus say, "Take courage, my child. Be thou faithful. You're moving up home some day." Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Master of Blue Galilee From: GUEST,Benjamin Jaus Date: 19 Feb 11 - 12:38 AM To: Gospel Singer 97 Aloha My mom wrote that song, and her name was Wanda Faye Jaus. IfF you ever want a copy of the original music send me an email. Benjain@Jaus.us I have copies on my computer. IF you can correct the name of the writer on your comment. She wrote many other Gospel songs also. That song was written when my younger brother was very sick and Doctors said there was no hope. She prayed and said God you gave him to us you can take him home but give me peace it is your will. She then went to the piano and wrote the song. My brother is still alive today and the song was written in the late 40's. |
