Subject: Seagulls and freedom From: MissMac Date: 01 Jan 99 - 12:30 AM Does anyone have the rest of the words to The seagull that follows on freedom? In _______ bay there sat on the shore a yong girl who mourned for her love who's no more.. I have a hand written copy that is almost impossible to read. MissMac |
Subject: RE: Seagulls and freedom From: MissMac Date: 12 Feb 01 - 12:05 AM I still can't find this one and have re-tried the obvious word searches for it. I could post more of the lyrics if that would help. From what I can make out about this song it is a old salt and a young girl's conversation as to why the young men still fish for a living. Thanks for searching your memory banks for this one. MissMac |
Subject: RE: Seagulls and freedom From: Sorcha Date: 12 Feb 01 - 12:21 AM More exact lyrics would help. Missed this one the first time around. I am pretty sure it might have a Child number, but an not enough of a Child Scholar to know for sure. |
Subject: Lyr Add: THE SEAGULLS STILL FOLLOW ON FREEDOM From: MissMac Date: 17 Feb 01 - 11:35 PM Just after I asked here for the lyrics I checked with the person who gave them to me originaly to see if he had found a set with all the words and this is what he gave me. Seeing as how I could not find it on the DT I will post the words here. It is my first attempt at lyrics so I hope I have it right.

Subject: RE: Seagulls and freedom From: RichM Date: 18 Feb 01 - 12:42 PM I can't think of the seagull as a symbol of freedom. They have day jobs! Every morning just before dawn, I can see hundreds of them fly over after leaving the river, winging directly to the dump 20 miles away, and returning at dusk.

Subject: RE: Seagulls and freedom From: Dave (the ancient mariner) Date: 18 Feb 01 - 12:56 PM The first verse could be Placentia Bay in Newfoundland |
Subject: RE: Seagulls and freedom From: Liz the Squeak Date: 18 Feb 01 - 05:22 PM Eeuuuoooooowwwww, who names a place Placenta Bay?? And seagulls do have a job - eco friendly alarm clock and guano production line. Plus explaining the... herm, "birds and bees" to an admiring audience of children aged 2-12 at Hastings Jack in the Green Mayday festival every year.... LTS |
Subject: RE: Seagulls and freedom From: Ebbie Date: 19 Feb 01 - 03:58 AM Here in Juneau, I tend to be fondest of ravens- they seem to find life so interesting- but a fisherman friend of mine says that seagulls to him are the epitome of birdhood. He is a troller and spends many days alone on the ocean. He said that if it weren't for visiting seagulls checking on him he would be a lonesome man. Ebbie |
