UK biggest free arts festival takes place in birmingham this weekend 9th-11th Sept. with over 300 free live performances in all types of artforms.

There are lots of music performers, and my band Rhyzome are playing at the Arts Cafe at the St Martins in the Bullring church at 2.30pm on Saturday 10th Sept - it would be great to see anyone there!

Find out more at artsfest
and
Rhyzome website

If you live within 50 miles of Birmingham, it is something you really shoudn't miss!!

"If you live within 50 miles of Birmingham, it is something you really shouldn't miss!!"
Except that if you do live within 50 miles of Birmingham, you're probably opting for Bromyard instead.

Bromyard is fine if folk is all that you are looking for - I was merely mentioning a festival which has every conceivable artform on show, and free!!

rhyzia, I come from less than 40 miles from Birmingham and although I applaud it's eclectic mix of arts. Apart from the CBSO, there is little in the way of "English" (ok with a small e )that the organisers recognise. Thats why we go to Bromyard!

Comption, the vast majority of the performers are English (with a capital E) and a fair proportion are from the midlands.

And quite why this is important is beyond me - it doesn't purport to be 'English'!

I wasn't suggesting that you regular Bromyard visitors would give up your festival, I was promoting an event that I always visit, and this year I am playing!

Take it or leave it!

I was born in B'ham and go there about once a year though I live in NYC. Very sorry to miss the festival. I wish you all the best.
