Hi to all Mudcatters from Longford Ireland but living in Germany,

I probably have used the wrong title for this thread, so please forgive my ignorance.

I have been invited to Orlando Florida by my sister who runs a school and is the school principal. She has asked me to play some concerts (Irish songs and Ballads)in aid of the flood victims in New Orleans and surrounding areas affected.

I am thrilled to be able to do this and I will also avail of the opportunity to visit other family members while there. I will be visiting Phoenix, AZ. and Tampa Florida as well.

My question is if anyone knows of any good guitar shops in any of the cities mentioned.

Will appreciate any info. on this.

Thanks in advance

JB

Any particular types of guitars that you are looking for ? It's been decades since I've lived in Tampa but I'm pretty sure there are some Guitar Centers there. They stock Martin, Taylor and other well known major brands.

You might check the website of you favorite guitar maker and see if their dealer list has a location near where you will be visiting.

Again - if I knew more about what you were looking for - new or vintage - I might be of more help.

Good luck and use sunscreen.

Everything I know of in Phoenix is very corporate. Try to get to Tucson, 2 hours away, and visit Rainbow Guitar on Campbell and Grant. Right across the street is The Folkshop. Lots of cool banjos and odd stuff to drool over. Sadly, the Folklore Center in Prescott has closed.

Verde Picker.

I second the Tucson shopping recommendations. Tucson's a nicer place to visit, too. ;-)
