Subject: Ada and Dayan From: Le Scaramouche Date: 24 Oct 05 - 11:27 AM Has anyone heard of this Israeli duo from the Western Galilee? Ada sings, contemporary Celtic and folk song, while Dayan appears to be the instrumentalist. I recently heard two songs on the radio, 'Ready for the Storm' and a variant of the 'Hares on the Mountain' but with salmon and fishing on Sundays. She has a gorgeous voices and I'd like to find out more details, a google search unearthing nothing. |

Subject: RE: Ada and Dayan From: Jack The Lad Date: 25 Oct 05 - 05:20 PM Weeeyyyyy! Scaramouche-- If you came to Jacob's Ladder you'd have seen them often. It's Ada and Diane- Western Galilee women. I heard them yesterday on 88Fm singing Blackbirds and Thrushes- I also broadcast Diane's version of Greensleeves on my own show yesterday. They have a couple of CDs out Shepherd's Daughter and The Many Colours of White. PM me for more details if you want- they have concerts at Ada's House nearly every week and also appear in the folk clubs. I think their CDs are available on CD Baby- but I may be wrong. They often perform with respected members of the Arab musical community. A great duo and lovely warm people, very very talented. Jack The Lad |
