I missed most of Folkwaves last night and therefore, the gig guides so can anyone give me a run down of gig's or folk clubs within about 30 mins drive of Mansfield?
I've recently passed my driving test and I intend to use my car for much more that just driving to work!

30 minutes from Mansfield will take you to a lot of places- Nottingham, Sheffield, Chesterfield, Derby - this will help with sessions:

The Session

and search for around the areas of interest.

Sheffield Folk Festival this weekend should be a useful place to go, too.

Try the Folk And Roots Venues page, once of the best resources to start on such a quest. East Midlands looks like the closest area for you.

At most folk clubs you'll be able to pick up a local folk magazine which will list other clubs and sessions in your area.
