Does anyone know who did the music for The Virgin Queen which aired ob PBS last night. I thought it might be the medieval Babes but could find no credits for the music. Would sure like to know who it is. Thanks, James

I thought it sounded like them, too, James, but I've been unable to find anything on google or at teh "official" site for the show.

I did make a note in this thread about the inaccuracy of "Greensleeves" but regardless, I thought the music was well done.

The only comment I found on the score said it mixed elements of the Elizabethan period, New Age and Riverdance.
The man who put the music together was Martin Phipps (godson of Benjamin Britton) who has a degree in drama. I would guess that he stitched the music together from recordings and the help of BBC studio musicians. He has many film and TV credits, but apparently was not considered important enough to be given credit for the musical side of the production.

Thanks, Q. Apparently, it was the same "not important enough" for the previous production of "Kidnapped," too, as I didn't see any music credits for it, another BBC-Masterpiece Theatre production.
