Tune Req: Magheracloone & Miss Kate Rusby

You have all done very well so far! Has anyone got the music for the tunes : "Magheracloone" and "Miss Kate Rusby" ? both were composed by John McCusker of the BATTLEFIELD BAND. He plays the first on LOW D whistle on "Rain,Hail or Shine" (a must get album)and the second on fiddle with Mike Katz playing LOW D whistle. Thanks to Jo's help I can now use the ABC format. Don't know, but is this the same Kate Rusby, a very pleasant English trad singer, who is now with the Poozies and who has a couple of CD's of her own out? I have "Hourglass" and I highly recommend it.

Yes it is the same person. She sang with Eliza Carthy. She was in the studio when Battlefield Band were recording and helped with some backing vocals. John McCusker wrote the tune for her and I believe they were an item at one time. Bev Lawton

As it happens I have just got the official John McCusker tune book called "BOTHWELL BOY" which has all of his self-composed tunes in it including these two. It has just been released by Temple Records. When (if!) I get the hang of this ABC thing I will send the file up. I can scan these tunes if anyone is interested.
