Well my son Geof at The State University of Buffalo, NY has decided a guitar might be a good thing. I can pick out a guitar but I can't be in his dorm room helping him learn. I am thinking a beginners video might be a good idea. Any favorites? Fundmentals to start, I wait until Easter to slip a Play Like Tommy Emmanuel DVD in his basket.

Don, if you look around your local music store you should be able to find a Warners Brothers package called Acoustic Guitar Basics, which is part of their Ultimate Beginners Series. It contains a book, CD and two VHS tapes with many basic lessons. It's also available in DVD format. $24.95. Good place to start, IMHO.

Four years ago I stopped by your compound at Ols Songs and you or another guitarist was playing a small bodied Guild guitar you had recently picked up from Ebay.(I think) What model was it if you recall?
