Subject: RE: Jeff Warner at Hyde St. Pier - 9 Dec 2005 From: Bat Goddess Date: 10 Dec 05 - 09:11 AM Yeah, we "let" him miss a Friday session with us to do a few concerts out your way. Hope my sister follows my advice and shows up! Jeff is an incredibly well rounded performer. His CD is wonderful listening but his performances are exceptionally entertaining as well as educational. He shares his knowledge and his wonderful voice and song selection. Don't miss it! Linn |
Subject: RE: Jeff Warner at Hyde St. Pier - 9 Dec 2005 From: GUEST,Chanteyranger Date: 10 Dec 05 - 01:31 PM Thanks for loaning him, Jeri and Bat Goddess. He will be returned special delivery in a few days. 50 people came out on this unseasonably warm, very comfortable evening, and congregated in the Balclutha's shelterdeck. Jeff's knowledge of traditional songs shone through, and the audience, some themselves longtime sea music concertgoers, was in rapt attention to both his intros and songs. One of the highlights of the evening was his singing while using a "Limber Jim," or "Jumping Jim." This "Jim," whoever he is, charmed everyone. A fine finale to this year's sea music concert series.
