Subject: Tech: help with itunes-ipods? From: Dani Date: 20 Dec 05 - 08:23 PM (Feel free to move this below if you think it's BS) itunes is just the most amazing musical invention since the... banjo. Or the bodhran? Or maybe just since the Mudcat. In any case, we've run into a technical difficulty we can't seem to overcome, and thought one of you musically/technically inclined folks might have a fix: We've got this big 'ol itunes folder, and my daughter's got an ipod. It auto-downloads every tune, and we can't figure out how to just get the playlists she wants to download. Imagine, she doesn't want my music on her ipod. The nerve.... While I've got your attention, (and this may be related to the solution) I'm trying to access the music from multiple desktops on this computer. I've got the itunes software accessible, but not the music library. I through my non-technical self on your mercy.... Dani |
Subject: RE: Tech: help with itunes-ipods? From: harpmolly Date: 20 Dec 05 - 10:06 PM Have you tried dragging the desired playlist on top of the iPod icon when the iPod isn't actually connected? I found that it wouldn't download them when it was plugged in--I had to fill the iPod icon folder and then plug the device in and update it. Ok, I'm going to stop pretending I know what I'm talking about now. *grin* Best of luck, Molly |
Subject: RE: Tech: help with itunes-ipods? From: alison Date: 20 Dec 05 - 10:56 PM I'd like to know why it will only recharge one of my ipods and not the other - means you ahve to load and update before the battery runs out (pretty quick when its conntected to the computer) then recharge the Ipod again before you can do more. slainte alison |
Subject: RE: Tech: help with itunes-ipods? From: Amos Date: 21 Dec 05 - 12:31 AM There is a preference you need to set to manage tunes manually; this will prevent iPod from automatically matching iTunes when you hook them up. I think it can be reached from the wee icon at the bottom of the iTunes window but also from the iTubes Preferences menu option. Hope this helps. Alison, there were a whole mess of earlier iPods which Apple had to fix batteries on for free because they wouldn't hold a charge. Take it into your Apple Store and ask one of their Geniuses about it. A |
