I learned a cajun tune from Joel Savoy called "The Flames of Hell".
I wonder if anyone knows the lyrics. I need them in English, but if they are in French, I can find someone to translate. Thanks

O, 'tite tante, priez pour moi
J'suis condammé pour les flammes d'enfer
Priez pour moi, sauvez mon ame
J'suis condammé pour les flammes d'enfer.

English Translation:

Oh, little aunt, pray for me
I'm condemned to the flames of hell
Pray for me, save my soul
I'm condemned to the flames of hell.

Try this site
It has that one and more besides.
IMHO the Dewey Balfa version is superior, though much simpler. Dewey was a master cajun fiddler, and going by your monica, should be right up your alley :-)

Subject: Lyr Add: LES FLAMMES D'ENFER / THE FLAMES OF HELL

In French, it's known as LES FLAMMES D'ENFER, and under that title, it's been recorded by The Balfa Brothers, Beausoleil, Michael Doucet, Austin Pitre, Zachary Richard, Jo-El Sonnier, and many others. Sometimes it's called traditional, sometimes it's attributed to Austin Pitre, sometimes to Michael Doucet, and sometimes to Floyd Soileau.

Here are some lyrics from the web site of an all-female band called Les Femmes D'Enfer:

LES FLAMMES D'ENFER
(Austin Pitre)

THE FLAMES OF HELL

Oh, little aunt, pray for me.
Pray for me, save my soul.
I'm condemned to the flames of hell, little aunt.
Pray for me, save my soul.

When I die, don't bury me,
Don't bury me in the cemetery.
Please bury me in the corner of the yard,
The corner of the yard at your papa's house.
