Subject: Origins: Know artial lyrics, please HELP
From: GUEST,kalamon6
Date: 01 Jan 06 - 01:11 AM

Ok...I have these lyrics stuck in my head, but I can't remember the song name or album. I think it was on a mix CD and I think it is from the early 90's. It's an R&Bish type song. The chorus goes...... "I need you shaa naa naa naa na...you're the one I want". Ok...that's all I can remember. I know..not much. But if anyone can suggest something I would appreciate it.

From: Peace

Artist: John Travolta / Olivia Newton Lyrics
Song: You're the One That I Want Lyrics

I got chills, they're multiplyin', and I'm losin' control
Cause the power you're supplyin', it's electrifyin'

You better shape up, cause I need a man,
and my heart is set on you
You better shape up, you better understand,
to my heart I must be true
Nothing left, nothing left for me to do

Chorus:
You're the one that I want
(you are the one I want), ooh ooh ooh, honey
The one that I want (you are the one I want),
ooh ooh ooh, honey
The one that I want (you are the one I want),
ooh ooh ooh, honey
The one I need (the one I need),
oh yes indeed (yes indeed)

If you're filled with affection,
You're too shy to convey
Meditate my direction, feel your way

I better shape up,
cause you need a man
I need a man,
Who can keep me satisfied
I better shape up, if I'm gonna prove
You better prove, that my fate is justified
Are you sure?
Yes I'm sure down deep inside

[chorus repeats out]

If the song required is the one I found then the requester is using the current meaning of the label "R&B" and not what I would refer to as "R&B", but, who knows??!! :-)

"artial"? Is that a typo I can't identify, or some vogue word I've not come across?

I don't think that the song from Grease is the song that was originally requested.   So I think that changing the thread title to the name of that song is not going to help, especially since, as far as we know, the original poster has not been back yet to check for answers. The original poster won't be able to find this thread with the new title.

Helen: You may be right. It's a judgment call. Which way is this thread more likely to be useful in the future? If the original requester comes back, or if someone else comes here looking for the song from Grease?

Please note that the thread was inactive from 03 Jan at 04:22 PM until you revived it on 05 Jan at 01:21 AM – about 33 hours. I never change a title unless more than 24 hours have passed since the last message. At that point, I figure it's very unlikely the original requester will come back. If he/she does, he/she can start a new thread, and someone will direct him/her back here.

One of the JoeClones,

I don't think that the original requester was looking for the song from Grease, so by re-naming the thread to the name of the song from Grease the original poster won't be able to find the thread again. Usually if it is a guest they don't necessarily come back within a couple of days. Sometimes it might be at least a week and maybe a few weeks or more.

It is only a week today since the guest started the thread.

It would be more useful as a thread title in the future if it reflected the song that the guest was looking for, but it won't matter much in the future anyway, at Mudcat, because neither song is folk or blues, so it is unlikely that any of the regulars or new Mudcat people looking for songs will search for this one.

I understand the reasoning behind renaming threads to reflect the name of the song requested but not when the original requester has not returned to see the answer and will be unable to find the thread again because the title is totally changed.

Just my opinion,
Helen

I know the exact song that person was talking about and no, it's not the Grease track. It was by BVSMP. I was actually looking for the same song and came across this on the internet! So helpful! Thanks!

Oh. My apologies. (The lights are on but there's no one home. Elevator going up 2 1/2 floors. One taco short of a combination plate.)
