Brian Ingham passed away peacefully at 8.15am on Sunday the 8th of January after a two year battle with the big "C". He was still singing up till the end, doing his last gig with the Portsmouth Shanty Men in November! Brian also sang with "Ramskyte" and danced with the Victory Morris Men of Portsmouth.
We will keep you all posted on the funeral arrangements as they are finalised

Brian was an amazing guy who I have had loads of brilliant times with. We were only listening to his CD yesterday. We'll miss you, Brian, and will raise a rum and shrub to you tonight.

This really is a sad day. Brian was a lovely man and wrote some wonderful songs, through which he'll be remebered for a long time to come. Love to all the family.

A sad loss - Brian was a fine singer and a thoroughly nice bloke, and his wonderful harmonies with Ramskyte deserve a far wider audience. Another good one gone.

I am so sorry I will never hear his infestious giggle again.
He was a lovely man and wrote some songs that will go on for many years and may one day be described as traditional.
Goodbye Brian me old mate, I'm going to miss you.

Annie phoned us last night and gave us the sad news.

Fortunately we have Brians CD as well as Portsmouth Shantymen and Ramskyte recordings so we can listen again to his fine singing.

Rest in peace.

Dave

Such a wonderful man, always ready with encouragement and a smile.

And he could sing a bit too. We will miss him.

We last heard Brian and the gang a few years back at the Portsmouth (NH) Sea Music Festival. So sad to hear that he has left this earth but I'm sure he'll find good company to sing with on that farthest shore.

So very sad. One of the people I've known since my very early Middle Bar days. We were so pleased to hear him in such good voice at Portsmouth last year. I'm glad he managed to sing until so close to the end. I think a really good Middle Bar send off is an essential here and I don't doubt that we will have one.

The singing in "The other bar" must be getting better and better with all the good singers who have gone.

Love Lynne

Really sad news. Brian made a great contribution to the Theatre Bar singarounds as well as all the other activities listed by the others who've posted, and I was so pleased to see/ hear him last year at Sidmouth and at the Wail.

Condolences and best wishes from Derek and me.

Another one for that large shanty group who have lead the way to the other side. Brian was a lovely person and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

I heard on Sunday the news that we had been expecting But I haven't been able to find the words to express my sadness at the loss of a good friend. I seem to have known Brian and all his lovely family for as long as I can remember, at least back to the early 70's. My thoughts are with Annie at this sad and confusing time, also of course with little "Ali Bee" who I have known since, in her words "before she was".

My love to all the family.

Andy

Yas,(Scooby) who is in hospital at the moment has asked me to send her condolences as well.

So sad to hear this news, Brian was such a nice man and we will miss his smile and his jokes and of course his wonderful singing. We were hoping to see him again at lodgehill this year and are so sad that he has lost his fight and that we won't now get the chance.

love to you both
Tony & Lesley
