This last week I was loaned-for 2 days- a digital camera..(fancy one..Sony Mavica!) I took pics of everything in sight..*smile*.....so...

I have the great pleasure to present my wife...known in Mudcat as ferrara...ferrara

and several of my autoharps autoharps

(the text by pic#1 didn't all make it...I'll fix it soon)

I keep visiting your pictures, Bill. Perhaps you could be the official Mudcat picture gallery? A couple of tiny points which might help - could you resample the pics to a smaller size so that they load quicker, and make the whole pages so that they will load on everybody's screens? You must have a really big one! Most people probably use 800x600 resolution, but there are ways of doing it so the whole width can be seen on various sizes/resolutions. I won't get complicated here! Was going to send this as a private e mail but the link's missing on the page above. Also, how about an index to the diffent pages - links from each one? That would be excellent. Many thanks Jo

Jo, I sort of started this before I knew exactly what I was doing..I had the pics from the FSGW Getaway, and wanted to get them up, so I just loaded them in the Fortune City template.(and, believe it or not, I reduced the size of several of them a LOT already).. The reason I picked Fortune City was that they offered the most free web space in the list I saw (20mgs)..un-Fortune-ately, they seem to be pretty slow..[what I mean is, how fast the pics load is partly dependant on the server and only partly on the size of the images)...also, some pages have 3 pics, and they are all trying to load at once...which slows the process of seeing any one...To do it right, I would need to have an index page, lists of names with thumbnails, and clickable links to each name/picture etc. Fortune City has 2 ways to do web pages, and I started with the easy but inflexable one. I have been so durn busy recently, that I just have not taken a day and learned how to arrange HTML web pages effeciently...I intend to do that soon, as I want to do a page on my 'business/hobby'...but if I keep playing Mudcat album keeper, I sure intend to pretty it up a lot and make it as smooth as possible.

If, in the meantime, anyone wants to take this on and create/keep the Mudcat family album, I'd be glad to let them and even help...I sort of view the current effort as a beginning... and a place to put pics of those who had no page of their own.

I really agree with you, Jo, that it would be better if I made some of those pics a bit smaller, and I'll play with that this next week, as well as having links from page to page...........(ain't modern technology fun!? One lifetime, from radio, 78rpm records and B&W movies as my main entertainment ...to this! *grin*)

oh...by the way, Jo, are you 'signed up' as a Mudcat member? If so, you have a private page where you can get my email and that of any Mudcat member who allows it to be shown, and send an email right from that page!....(I remembered on a couple of those pages, and forgot on a couple)...but here it is--extree@erols.com

Refreshing this one as it's got Bill's email address (now that we can't get into his pages) for anyone wanting to send him pictures - you really wanted me to do that, didn't you Bill?! Good luck, look forward to seeing the results soon!
Jo

When i try to follow your link (which page source shows me is) http://www.fortunecity.com/tinpan/abba/690/ferrara.html I get a window from Fortune City that says this page no longer exists. Am i doing something wrong? I found an earlier thread that had a link to the pictures you all are talking about and got the same message. Any suggestions?

Yeah, Bill, when ya gonna recover from the crash and get our pictures up again? I sent the URL to Mom so she could see what I look like, and all poor Mom got was a blank black page. Guess I better go visit Mom, huh? Think she'll recognize me, now that my curly brown hair is either grey or gone?

ok, friends..here it is Mudcat Family Album...Please understand that as of Sunday, Feb 28, USA EST, it is barely begun!..*smile*..I'm SURE it is easier than I have done it this time, but once I get thru all the stuff in my own life in the next 2 weeks, I'll learn & use the more sophisticated editors and maybe perk it up a bit...with text & quotes and descriptions and whatever we all want...

I have been using 4 different graphics editors to do thumbnails, etc., as some will do tricks the others wont.

(for the curious, I used CompuPic, LView Pro, PaintShop Pro, and ThumbsPlus..as well as ACDSee to do quick viewing and adding local descriptions to the files)

If anyone sees anything that is just wrong, or does NOT want your picture in here as it is..let me know. In the meantime...talk among yourselves and trade pics by email...*grin*

I 'think' you can now navigate among the various pages ok...there are links both in the text and at the bottoms of pages...

If I can get more done this week, I will....have fun!

well, I see by the counter that a number of people have looked at it...but the link to a bigger pic of Joe Offer is hidden in the text at the side of the collection, and only a couple have gone there...likewise the link to Jo's pictures...eventually, the links will be listed better and I can put names (other than the file name on my disk)and a little description under each picture..

Looking good so far Bill, I found the link to Jo's pictures OK but missed the one to Joe. Perhaps Max has hidden it to stop hackers getting in and amending his program?

Pete M

PS when my son gets back I'll have access to a scanner and try and send you some photos to add (any preference on format?) Keep up the good work.

Gosh, a whole page to myself, I'm honoured, Bill! Thought you'd just pick a bit out of one of them. I usually end up looking as if I have a cartoon nose on - those microphone cosy thingies. Looking forward to seeing everyone else.

Bill, a great idea having the Mudcat Family Album. I've e-mailed you two pictures. The note with the second one says we're grinning so much because he's playing in the key of G and I'm playing in C, but anyone who knows banjo and guitar can tell that he's in C, I'm in G.

It's really nice to put faces on the postings. . . feels even more like we know each other.

yep...got the new pics...will get to it soon, though it may be just add-ons till I get more time..

(doing it the 'quick & dirty' way is, I'm sure, longer than the fancy way, once you get all set up..does anyone else remember the school line.."...but, I don't have time to write a short paper"?)

Well, from the evidence available I don't think Joe Offer looks like Steve Martin. Where is that lighthouse anyway? I like the scenery. I liked Big Mick and Alison's pics too. No offense to all of you I didn't mention!
