Just listened to Archie Fisher's "Travelling Folk" program and I need info on the Perth? based group CANTRIP. Do they have a web site? Where can I buy their CD(s) on-line?

From Footstompin'..."Cantrip is a quartet Scottish traditional musicians that positively crackles with energy. The name itself, which is an Old Scots word meaning a charm, magic spell or piece of mischief, aptly evokes both the unexpected twists and turns in their musical arrangements and the inherent and compelling potency of their native Scottish traditions.
By interweaving the individual elements of dual fiddles provided by Jon Bews and Gavin Marwick; Scottish Bagpipes and flute by Dan Houghton and Guitar, Bouzouki and Banjo by Cameron Robson, Cantrip creates a musical fabric of the finest colours and textures. It is a sound that is driving and inspiring in the reels and jigs, sensitive and contemplative in the slow airs and never without a touch of humour. This skill and enthusiasm radiate out in their live performances as well as their recorded material."

YES
they do have a website and you can get their CD there but I haven't been able to make blue clickies for a while here so you'll have to google it yourself *g*

YES
they're a crackin' good band
especially the two violins, with very different styles of execution playing off each other and those soaring border pipes........WHEW !!

"GOLD" is just a fabulous CD but they are even better live
I'd defy anybody not to be moved emotionally by their performances or their creativity in composing

My apologies
Did I really write the name of the CD wrong ?

It must be too much Winter Olympics watching and ever hopeful of Brits performing better than second place

ha ha ha

I didn't mean "GOLD" ..........I meant "SILVER" ......natch
