Looks like I might well be there, with my newly bionic arm.

I'd lost my nerve, but the kind surgeon chappie found it lying around and reconnected it!

Looking forward to next Saturday.

Alan

Pat Turner and I are really sorry we can't be there but will be at a birthday 'do' in Kent.

I will give it a good plug at the Waltham Abbey Folk Club tonight. I've had a poster up for weeks.

I hope it goes really well.

Lynne

Yes its on Sunday, ta.

Sod off El G, since when do Greeks know anything about playing rugby, but you are correct in your appraisal , so some of the influenece is rubbing off, 'Mai Hen Glad fyn

We got the best singing without doubt

Come and see our Sam play on Sunday morning, the battling bruiser of Bricket Wood, or should that be 'Bricket Weed'

that was a joke - weed

cos there was a

cannabis bust in our village, 900 plants seased seized, well got.

of course a huge thanks to moses and the ref (steve and christine), chris flegg (does he have a mudcat name)lanfrance, breezy and tony clark who did brilliant spots and without whom the day would have been the poorer. also thanks all who sang, played, danced, juggled, fire walked (what do you mean you missed it) it really was your day we just bribed the landlady into letting us hold it there.

Jan and me, Lynne, if you count me as a part-time WA attendee.

Jan and I both think you should book Fleggy forthwith. We'll explain on Monday.

A fun evening (we arrived a bit late) was had by all. It was good to see Essex Girl made it across a couple of county borders, and Micca braved a typical One Railway snafu to attend. Storbans was well represented, as you can see from the above, as was Herga. We got some strange looks from a couple of regulars at the pub, but we coped.

Thanks to Les and Carys for the organisation. Les was a tad "out of it" towards the end, but we all forgave him and promise not to remind him of some of his wilder utterances.

I revived "Clementine" to the tune of "Cwm Rhondda" for the first time in years. As it is a strong rugby pub (we'd watched England fail to penetrate the Scottish defence earlier), even the locals joined in on that one.

More, Les, please, that was a goodie!

Alan

RE: WA - saw HarlowPoet earlier but he kinda evaporated ... ???

Anyway - was a gooood event. The tonsils are still hanging loose & the voice has been Dark Brown for the last day .. was good to see Mac in Splendid Form even if it was only the one. .. congrats to Les & Carys for a Reet Good Do .. and thanks to Tony & Pearl as well ...
The Landlady's still in shock (she apparently has long standing fantasies involving Standon Morris, poor thing);0)

PS Les didn't lose it at the end, he'd just misplaced it slightly, you could tell by the way he was sitting on the stool ...

Excellent day!! Thanks Les and Carys (Frog and Frogette) for the PM reminder. In spite of the vagaries of One Rail and the "short journey" that turned into a Marathon!! I made it! Good singing all round, well what I heard anyway (well I had to leave at 8 to be sure of getting home ok)
without singeling anyone in particular out, memorable for me were:-
Kitty Vernons rendition of Dave Holdens " I didnt mean to cause a fight"
Dereks "Farewell to the Gold"
Les "Roses of No Mans Land"
The "5 minute workshops" version of "The walls come down"
the cloggers "peg leg uniform?" They were Brill!!
and lots more, too numerous to mention, Thanks to all
there are some pix
