Subject: RE: The Butler Emporium From: Geoff the Duck Date: 21 Feb 06 - 03:10 PM Wish them a fond farewell from us please. Unfortunately we would not be able to attend even if we were in Whitby because the police won't allow children onto the premises since the new licencing act started. Best of luck to Rose and John. Quack! Geoff. |

Subject: RE: The Butler Emporium From: ksloan Date: 28 Feb 06 - 09:39 AM How was it? |
Subject: RE: The Butler Emporium From: Les from Hull Date: 28 Feb 06 - 09:54 AM It was excellent. Certainly Maggie and I had a great time, and the other 138 people (really!) there on Saturday night seemed to be enjoying it as well. For the Sunday night John and Rose reverted to 1999 prices (the year they took over). I don't ever remember going to a 'leaving do' for a landlord and landlady before, so it shows a lot for John and Rose that they could attract such an attendance, with people willing to travel lots of miles just to say cheerio. |
Subject: RE: The Butler Emporium From: GUEST Date: 28 Feb 06 - 10:05 AM Excellent. 136? That must be a record! And to revert to 1999 prices- what more could you ask. |
Subject: RE: The Butler Emporium From: GUEST,old git Date: 28 Feb 06 - 12:14 PM agreed Les..it was a cracking couple of days with some great music and singing..and a fitting farewell to John and Rose...not that sure about the woman in the red dress and long black hair..there was somethimg strange about her!!! just a pity I had to go home Sunday morning and missed the 1999 prices! geoff |

Subject: RE: The Butler Emporium From: ossonflags Date: 03 Mar 06 - 03:53 AM Great weekend !!! best of luck to Rosie and John for the future. Barry and Mike are taking the helm of the "Endeavour" and they are following in John and Rose's great tradition of continuing to run the pub as folk friendly, and in my humble opinion the best pub in Whitby. let us continue to give them our support in keeping music live. |
