Subject: Free Spell Checking Software From: Rasener Date: 20 Feb 06 - 04:01 AM I have just downloaded this excellent piece of software which is free. Its a spellchecker and you can use it for all your posting on Mudcat or any other forum, that doesn't have a spellchecker. http://www.iespell.com/ |
Subject: RE: Free Spell Checking Software From: Rasener Date: 20 Feb 06 - 04:23 AM Also, for those who have Google toolbar, if you hadn't noticed, there is a spellchecker on the toolbar, which works in a similar way. |

Subject: RE: Free Spell Checking Software From: Beer Date: 20 Feb 06 - 07:36 PM Just tried it here on the Mud and it works great. I guess I'll put the dactionary (I mean dictionary)away. Thanks. Beer |
Subject: RE: tech: Free Spell Checking Software From: Bill D Date: 20 Feb 06 - 08:31 PM Do note that it works only **with** Internet Explorer based browsers. The one I have noted before, TinySpell, works absolutely anywhere, whether you are on the web or not, and depends on no particuar Web browser, so users of Opera, Netscape, Mozilla, Firefox..etc can use it as well.....(and who knows, you I.E. users might like it as well!) |
Subject: RE: tech: Free Spell Checking Software From: Beer Date: 20 Feb 06 - 09:40 PM Thanks Bill. Didn't see your previous entry. |
Subject: RE: tech: Free Spell Checking Software From: bobad Date: 20 Feb 06 - 09:51 PM who neads a stewpid spel chekker anyweys ? |
Subject: RE: tech: Free Spell Checking Software From: Gurney Date: 20 Feb 06 - 09:52 PM Wordweb, also a free download, sits in the toolbar. You highlight a word, click the icon, and arrive there. It works in any program you are using. It is a dictionary, though, not a spellchecker, so you have to be reasonably close. Now, if there was one that you could 'select all' like you do in 'Word', that would be nice. |
Subject: RE: tech: Free Spell Checking Software From: Rasener Date: 21 Feb 06 - 05:09 AM I will have a look at that one Bill. The real purpose of this thread was to make people aware of what was available. Which one anybody uses is up to them. Whatever takes your fancy. |
Subject: RE: tech: Free Spell Checking Software From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 21 Feb 06 - 06:39 AM You can do a 'change all' in ieSpell. |
Subject: RE: tech: Free Spell Checking Software From: Rasener Date: 21 Feb 06 - 06:49 AM Agree with that Foolestroupe. That is what I am currently using. It works very well. |
Subject: RE: tech: Free Spell Checking Software From: GUEST,Pete Date: 21 Feb 06 - 05:08 PM Beware the spellchecker. One of my daughters junior school reports informed me that she'd been studying the work of Alfred Lord Tension! This from a teacher. |
