Subject: NW Kent Pub Song/ssn SAT 22 Apl From: Richard Bridge Date: 21 Mar 06 - 07:04 PM We have decided to run the next Ship session (assuming Sally and Ken still then have the Ship) on 22 April to avoid clash with Miskin and presage St George's day. Jeff may run something in my house the weekend I am away. By invitation I think. I'll do a clicky some other time. |

Subject: RE: NW Kent Pub Song/ssn SAT 22 Apl From: GUEST,Richard Bridge Date: 17 Apr 06 - 02:38 PM OK Kent'n'Lunnon folkies (and the Essexers I met in Miskin) A few days to nurse the hangovers, and it's this Saturday. If the house overflows with sleeping bags, Miskin has proved the carrying van viable. |

Subject: RE: NW Kent Pub Song/ssn SAT 22 Apl From: Essex Girl Date: 18 Apr 06 - 04:28 AM I'll be there Richard. (Why did you go off the road to Cardiff? We wondered if there was something wrong or were you just going for fuel?) |
Subject: RE: NW Kent Pub Song/ssn SAT 22 Apl From: Richard Bridge Date: 18 Apr 06 - 07:55 AM Hi Linda I saw you leaving one service station (about the third on the M4) a little before us, and we did not overtake you later despite hauling a pretty steady 62 from then on. We had three stops: first to close roof vent (why do I always forget that?) and buy non-alcoholic liquid to drink in car; second to adjust nearside wing mirror, whereupon we discovered that using the "caravan" parking meant we could not get to petrol, only to diesel, so the third, at the next services, where we saw you, was for fuel. As stated, we averaged 50 mph pretty well on the nose and no doubt Don and John (with big cars and small vans) will have been nearer 55 mph. |
Subject: RE: NW Kent Pub Song/ssn SAT 22 Apl From: Essex Girl Date: 18 Apr 06 - 08:44 AM Richard, I've pulled into that service station for fuel before. I know to avoid it now. The only hold up we had was on the A20, 5 minutes from home. |
Subject: RE: NW Kent Pub Song/ssn SAT 22 Apl From: The Barden of England Date: 18 Apr 06 - 09:12 AM I was amazed at how easy the journey home from Miskin was. Left the campsite at 11am and parked the carryingvan up at it's space in Snodland at 2:45pm. I filled up on Sunday so I didn't need to find a place that would accomodate a caravan. Stopped for a 'comfort break' just the once. |
Subject: RE: NW Kent Pub Song/ssn SAT 22 Apl From: Richard Bridge Date: 18 Apr 06 - 11:39 AM Wo John, that's an average of 54 mph. |
Subject: RE: NW Kent Pub Song/ssn SAT 22 Apl From: The Barden of England Date: 18 Apr 06 - 12:20 PM And I wasn't 'gunning it' so to speak. Just a bit of traffic to negotiate at the tunnels near Newport, otherwise plain sailing and only overtook lorries and one or two very slow caravans. |

Subject: RE: NW Kent Pub Song/ssn SAT 22 Apl From: Richard Bridge Date: 19 Apr 06 - 04:27 PM If you disgress too far on the way here you will get wet on the outside (Medway or Thames) not, as I know you plan, on the inside.... To disgress, however, was it Greyhound or Good Intent this week, or what? |

Subject: RE: NW Kent Pub Song/ssn SAT 22 Apl From: Richard Bridge Date: 23 Apr 06 - 08:27 AM Ooh me 'ed! A pleasant evening. I thought Kevin the Shirt Murderer was in top form. Sarah was spectacular. Everyone sang and played nicely. Slats popped in after his gig. But for some reason the frisson was not there. |
Subject: RE: NW Kent Pub Song/ssn SAT 22 Apl From: Girl Friday Date: 23 Apr 06 - 05:56 PM Sorry folks, would the frisson have been there if the Lepps were? What does a frisson look like anyway? Is it a large black and white bovine? Is it therefore edible? In which case, does it run slow enough for us to catch it? We have a new agricultural song.Perhaps it wouldn't go down well at Miskin, as it has a Welsh mint sauce flavour. Suspect that the Barden would love to get his teeth into it soon. Please advise if this deemed suitable for performance at Stoat. When you advise next Ship Night we hope to be there. Yours in leopardskin Sue and Trev |
