Sir Walter Scott, laird of Buccleuch leads a masterly raid to rescue "one William Armstrong, commonly called Will of Kinmouth" from the English: 4/13/1596. The song was preserved (& "improved") by the better-known Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832) a few years later.

        They thought King James and a' his men
         Had won the house wi' bow and speir;
        It was but twenty Scots and ten
         That put a thousand in sic a stear!

                "Kinmont Willie," Child #186

ALSO:
The first Havana cigar in Tampa, Florida was rolled 4/13/1886

        I landed in Rawlins and nothing to do,
        So I took a short walk to the Red Light Saloon.
        I opened the door, stepped up to the bar,
        Says a dancing young beauty, "Will you have a cigar?"

                "Red Light Saloon," Guy Logsdon, The Whorehouse Bells Were Ringing
