Standon Morris always used to dance around the pudding stone at Standon and then eat large lumps of fruit cake followed by a few pints at dawn on May Day. As far as I kno they still do it, and they're a very jolly bunch.

As Gervase says, and on the Monday the village street is full of traditional activities like crowning the May Queen, maypole and morris dancing.
(Standon is in Herts on the A120 near Puckeridge)

Enfield Men and Enfield Chasers used to dance in the middle of the town at Dawn on May Day but as you know it has been all remodelled recently but the Morris may still go on!

There also used to be a bit of a session in the bar at the Southgate Green May Day festival but have no idea if either or both still run - there is usually a morris side at the fair if it runs- both Enfield and Benskins have appeared.

Don't know what Chingford are up to !

Good luck
