I'd like to know more about Joe Wilson but unfortunately the link above doesn't work with my computer set-up. Could you provide a brief summary?

Charley Noble

I think it's been mentioned before that linking to search results at Farne doesn't seem to work. However, you can find the person search page here: FARNE - Person Search. If you select Wilson, Joe from the drop down you'll get the archive material for him.

If you're looking for biographical information, you can have a look at this thread and its links: Folklore: Who is Joe Wilson?

Thanks Jack.

This is very frustrating.
My original simple search on the page resulted in that 500 message too.
Then the advanced search worked so I posted that link, 12 May.
Then I noticed it didn't work so posted again , 13 May ... and double checked it!
It seems like the page needs time to think!?

I wonder if a search from the home page works?

Type in your own Joe Wilson
Or use the Search By Person and scroll down.

Mud'elf can delete my errors?

The FARNE archive is a Horrible Warning of what happens when you let a half-trained geek loose on an archive of uniquely valuable data. The Atkinson tune manuscript from the 1690s is even harder to navigate.

I doubt if they are still funded so there's no chance these problems will ever be fixed.
