Subject: Lowden and Martin guitars for sale From: Wesley S Date: 05 Jun 06 - 05:11 PM I have two guitars for sale – if anyone is interested drop me a line. I've got photos available on the Lowden currently and I'll have some photos of the Martin in a few days. The first one is a Lowden 12 string. It was built sometime in the 80's. I'm the second owner. It has Ovenkol back and sides with a cedar top. The previous owner played a lot of slide guitar so there are a few dings in the top but none of them seem visible from three feet away. The only issue I'll need to mention is a blemish in the finish. If you look at the photos you'll see it on the side of the guitar at the lower bout. At first it looks like a crack but it isn't. The best way I can describe it is as a wrinkle in the finish. I've only seen two other Lowden 12 strings before. Beautiful woods, gold hardware, original hardshell case. It's the nicest 12 string I've ever played. But I currently own 2 twelve strings and that's one two many. The other one is an old Gibson B-45-12 that has a lot of family history so I feel compelled to keep it. But the Lowden is easily the better guitar. The second one is a 1999 Martin OM-28V. It's in excellent shape – as close to showroom new as you're going to find. Indian Rosewood back and sides with a standard spruce top. Original hardshell case. I'm the original owner – I bought it from Mandolin Bros and it's the nicest OM-28V I've played. But I also own a Collings OM and I've decided to keep that one instead. These items and a Weber Bridger mandolin are being sold so that I can finance the purchase of a mandola. Feel free to PM me with any questions you might have. Thanks |

Subject: RE: Lowden and Martin guitars for sale From: Wesley S Date: 06 Jun 06 - 06:00 PM You'll have to send me your e-mail address for the photos. I'm a low tech kind of guy. I'd like to get a grand for the Lowden and 1700 for the Martin. I might ask for more at other locations but I'd settle for less from another Mudcatter. |
