Lyr Req: Bury me away on a snowy day? Angel Band

Hi!

We have a patron with an unusual request. (I'm writing from a business/education library.) She is trying to find the name/lyrics of her great-grandfathers favorite song. The lyric she remembers is "Bury me away on a snowy day...."

We would very much appreciate anything anyone knows about this.

Believe it or not, I do think she might be looking for an old hymn/sacred song with the line:

"...bear me away on your snowy white wings to my immortal home."

I don't have the words here, but the Stanley Brothers and MANY OTHERS recorded it.

May be wrong, but often lyrics can be (and are) misunderstood.

Someone is bound to have the lyrics for this somewhere. I do, I'm sure, but the books ar all still packed away...

Say, Helen, looks like you got caught. If you see a song on another site, and it ends with @ and a category name and then has initals in uppercase letters, it probably was copied from the Digital Tradition. The one you posted certainly was - I've been caught the same way myself a time or three.
I'll e-mail the lyrics to Laura and see if that's the song she wants. If it is, it will be yet another indication of the superhuman attributes of our friend Mr. Thieme.

Dear Everyone;

Thank you for your suggestions. I contacted my patron, and gave her the copy of the lyrics.

She says it's a lovely song, but she's sure it isn't _the_ song. (There is some family tradition about her relative indeed being buried on a snowy day, and therefore she is (fairly) sure that "bury me away on a snowy day" was an accurate rendition of the lyrics.) I've wondered, and suggested to her, if it might be a regional variation of the same song.

We both very much appreciate your responses.

I saw the markers at the end and thought it looked very DT-ish, but I copied it just in case it wasn't in the DT and then forgot to check if it was.
