Black Sheep Music Festival: 16th – 18th June 2006, Masham, North Yorkshire.
A weekend of Blues, Folk, Jazz and Roots Music. The BLACK SHEEP MUSIC FESTIVAL ...
www.carlsbro.com/blacksheep.php

Another thread on here where I mentioned the above made me realise I hadn't seen a thread specifically concerning this fest.
The first ever was held there last year and was a crackin' good 'un!
Can't do blue clicky things - help please someone?
John Otway, Hank Wangford, The Hamsters, Christine Collister (I think), Harvey Andrews...
and more (er, including my DMcF Band - both acoustic AND electric)...
DO have a look on the website and check exactly who...Ta!
There should be loads of sessions, dancing, et al as well as concerts. Decent campsite too!
Come and find us - say hello Catters... let's have some beers!
Cheers - HFA - Duncan McFarlane
(If there IS a thread already, sorry!)

Heck - quick on the draw or what!
Thanks Sooz, but it didnae work for me!
I was after... http://www.carlsbro.com/blacksheep.php (that was where I'd seen it, but that was via the fest's 'other' sponsor, Carlsbro)
Up steps mighty John MacK with a working link to the fests 'proper' site.
Thanks you two - hugs- Duncan

Omigod, I love this Cafe. Back in the late 1960s I read a little T. H. White book, "Mistress Masham's Repose", which he wrote during WWTwice. He had set aside "Once And Future King" to do it. Sort of a kid's book, but not exactly. And, wow, there's a place....Oh, the good ol' days when I was young, had only one kid and SHE was a baby/toddler and somewhat controllable....I love this little place. I'll buy the house a round.                Tw

What a fantastic weekend - pity I couldn't stay til the close of play today but a definite date into next year's diary!.

Well done to all involved; organisers, artistes and audience.

And I get to double post as well!.

Off piste but coudn't resist (with apologies to those of this particular persuasion, no offence meant):

Tannywheeler:

Tim White used to live on 'my' little island - Alderney in the English Channel (as did Julie Andrews who introduced him to us). He was a huge twinkly man with long white hair and flowing beard. One day some Jehovah's Witnesses came to the island. Eventually they reached Tim's door. Hello? Who are you? he booms. We're Jehovah's Witnesses, comes the reply. Spendid! Roars Tim. I'm Jehovah - how are we doing?

(Glad Masham was good. maybe make it next year).

Oh, that is the *coolest* place, such yummy beers (and a nice restaurant, too, to say nothing of the excellent shop)! I'm attending a conference in Leeds in 2 weeks, and so narrowly missed it, alas; will take it into account when making next year's plans, though. Glad it was fun!

(Aptly named)Guest Bliss: Absolutely wonderful. That earns another round. I'm sorry, Giok--I'm kinda a "wuss", as we say here. I can't take stout or porter straight, myself. It's too "stout". Mine'll be a haff&haff. Ladies & Gents, I toast The Barman, God Bless 'Im.                Tw

Great to see you again Busybee Paul/Deirdre and enjoy the Duncan Mcfarlane band 5 times over the festival, you'll soon be able to compete with me for the title of No.1 fan!
Shame about the rain on Sunday, still it didn't seem to dampen the spirits of the folk who stuck it out in the garden at the Bruce.
I wonder if 'SHE' had a bad head on Sunday morning - I do hope so!
I got some fab photo's of the band and the Morris dancing, some may make their way onto the bands website, so you'll be able to have a peak.
Have you had a chance to find the phone no. for the B&B we talked about for our trip to Gainsborough in October?

Aye, DO send me the pix Molly - any good uns will be useful for the website. Email em via there if you like.

'so you'll be able to have a peak' - sounds painful! - I think you'd best have a peek!!

We had a ball at the fest - but a public big thanks owing to our studio 'engineer' Matt - indeed!
A two hour sets-worth learned in a week and one 'acoustic' rehearsal wi just Anne and m'sel (not even with the bass and drums)...
He made a bloomin' fine job of being our substitute bass player didn't he!!! Well done!!!
(Our usual bass player missed out wi' World Cup meta-tarsal probs!!)
Cheers Matt - hugs - Duncan

Hi Mollycat,

Can you pm me an email address and I'll send you details on the B&B and also a couple of pubs who do B&B as well. I really need to have a look at the B&B first before I recommend it - it's fairly new.

Yep, I bet her head did hurt - I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere near her on Sunday morning (Put that hoover away!).

My pix didn't come out as well as I'd hoped, so I've resorted to reading the instructional manual - hopefully the photos will be clearer next time!. I shan't be submitting any of mine from Masham for the website so I'll look forward to seeing some of yours.

Deirdre
