From: Hawker Date: 04 Sep 06 - 07:13 PM Little Hawker a lot better now, is able to jump up to the table and steal food today, have been told to see how he goes and that dogs usually recover quite quickly from this sort of thing, that seems to be the case, and hopefully its just a blip. Picys on the way for the site..hee hee... Jon Heslop and others playing 'air' guitar at an unaccompanied weekend! Wonderful people, wonderful singing and all the usual grizly humour of the banquet! See you next year. |
Subject: RE: Wareham Wail - 2006? From: Snuffy Date: 04 Sep 06 - 12:29 PM What a wonderful weekend. As everyone has remarked, the banquet was hilarious, and the kidnapping and rescue of my fair lady took the nonsense to new heights. Oh, and we did sing as well: loud or soft, fast or slow, sad or happy - they all helped to make it a most memorable weekend. |
Subject: RE: Wareham Wail - 2006? From: daughter Date: 04 Sep 06 - 08:26 AM Yahoo! What a great bash! Big agreement with all our friends about how fantastic the Wail was this year. Beautiful singing everyone - good effort! Especially lovely were the brave little teeny bands of bods who maintained the "quiet" sings in the 'other' marquee each night (cheers Cllr) - I really enjoyed those! Thank you to those who were on the same banquet table as me - a great larf was had by all - highly impressed with the cunning plot and a bloody grand execution of the kidnap! I advocate a proper introduction of jousting competitions on Sunday morning next year if the weather is fair! FUN FUN FUN! THANK YOU GRANDAD AND NICKY & TEAM! See as many of you as possible at Wallinford and Banbury xxxxxxxxxxxxx |
Subject: RE: Wareham Wail - 2006? From: fiddler Date: 04 Sep 06 - 08:02 AM That is cool and Excelent! I have pork on the bone and I am not sure of the other. No big rush as this site (not a money spinning project) has to take it's place in the queue! But fun to put together. |

Subject: RE: Wareham Wail - 2006? From: Hawker Date: 03 Sep 06 - 05:11 PM Home! We had a good trip back to Cornwall, though Hawker had some sort of seizure in the camper on the way home, he has lost some of the use of his back legs, we are off to the vets in the morning - the reassuring thing is that he has not lost his apetite, but then, that doesn't surprise me. Thanks Alan, the team and all you lovely lot out there, for a fantastic weekend, which to me felt more like a party than a festival. Great singing (from you all, apologies for the whispered songs from me), great food, great fun banquet and wow did I really see the dawn break this morning? - as my 15 year old said, MUM! You're old enough to know better!! Hey and old enough to choose whether I am sensible or not!!!! I'll be back and photos to follow when I am not so tired! I may have a voice by next weekend, but I just proved that you don't have to sing at Wareham to have a good time! Wareham Banquet, Wareham Banquet, where the piggy goes around and round.............................. Cheers, Lucy |

Subject: RE: Wareham Wail - 2006? From: JudeL Date: 31 Aug 06 - 05:46 PM RE above, the fates seem to be seriously against us at the moment It's not just our plans for the handfasting that have been upset. We set off early this morning to go help set up, got as far as denham road ( that's sorta between uxbridge & slogh) was involved in a RTA which wrote off our caravan. So are currently at home licking our wounds ( all emotional & financial, I stress) and sorting out the aftermath such as producing documents at police station & contacting insurance company. The van having been hit by a lorry is not so much wrecked as matchsticked. We hope to get down sometime saturday, if so see you there if not enjoy. Cheers Jude |
Subject: RE: Wareham Wail - 2006? From: My guru always said Date: 31 Aug 06 - 04:35 PM Mr Happy, I was recently advised by Jude herself (only a few weeks ago) that the handfasting of JudeL & JohnHenry will not be taking place at Wareham (or even Verwood), but is postponed to another time & another place. So, a weekend of unaccompaanied singing it is :-) |
Subject: RE: Wareham Wail - 2006? From: Herga Kitty Date: 31 Aug 06 - 04:09 PM Pete - best wishes for Monday. I have, however, instructed Les Sullivan to have several pints on my behalf. Much to my surprise he agreed with some alacrity, I just hope he doesn't send me a bill!! I still miss the Land Rover sing. Best wishes and weather. Pete |

Subject: RE: Wareham Wail - 2006? Hope to see you on Friday. Kitty PS New Zealander Terry Free (who was a great asset to singarounds in Whitby) is apparently going to be in Dorset this weekend. I hope he manages to get to the Wail. |
