canny line-up!

The past festivals (at Eastleigh) were canny an' aall but the radio DJ's who were announcing were cr*p - Just like Smashy & Nicey withoot the charisma!!!

aah think this is organised by the same bunch that dee The Easter Fest in Fareham and that is aalways crackin' value

I know there's a number of Morris sides participating but I don't know the details about ceilidhs. I'll try to find out.

I do know there's no radio DJs this year Geordie-Peorgie, just some mighty fine music, song and dance including an indoor bar reserved for sessions where all singers and musicians can join in.

For those who don't know Wickham it is a beautiful village near Fareham and an ideal place in which to hold a Folk Festival.

And yes it is organised by the same people who organise the Fareham & Gosport Easter Festival and that is always a highly enjoyable and very friendly festival to attend.

Not been on this board for a while so only just noticed this.

What a great line-up!

I'm thinking of going for the weekend - not only to enjoy Richard Thompson, Seth Lakeman, Flook, Steeleye Span et al but also because Wickham looks a lovely little village to spend a weekend in.

Any other Mudcatters going?

Wickham Morris will be dancing in The Square on the opening night of this Festival and we hope to welcome many other dance sides to Wickham over the weekend.

The Wickham Folk Festival is a new event for Wickham but anyone who knows our village will know what a perfect setting it provides for a Folk Festival.

I never thought I'd be able to hear Richard Thompson, Steeleye Span, Seth Lakeman, Spiers & Boden, Flook, Paul Young and many other equally fine artists performing just yards from my front door. It's wonderful and everyone in the village is really looking forward to it.
