I'm visiting Northumbria (staying in Seahouses) next week from 10th to 14th July.

Anyone know of any good gigs or folk clubs I could take in please?.

Deirdre

Too far north for me. (I am on Teesside), but did a search and came up with some potentially useful links

Folk and Roots

Explore Music

Folkmap also shows one in Berwick (The Pilot)

I cannot make recommendations, but leave you to follow up as appropriate. I am sure there are more, but probably don't advertise themselves.

The Mouth of the Tyne festival on July 15 and 16 includes a concert at Tynemouth Priory on the Saturday with Bellowhead, Eliza Carthy and the Ratcatchers, Natacha Atlas, and the Afro-Cuban All-Stars.

Snag is, it's ticket-only - £25 from the Sage, Gateshead.

How about Rothbury - isn't that next weekend?
Robyn - who wishes she could get there.

Hi Paul,

Thursday 13 July from about 8pm, there will be dancing outside the Cumberland Arms, Byker, Newcastle with Hexham Morrismen, Tyne Bridge Ladies and the Newcastle Kingsmen. There will probably be music and song in the bar after the dancing finishes (that'll be about 9.30pm at a guess). Visitors will be very welcome.

Wassail!
