We are on tomorrow (Wed 26th July) at the Llantrisant Folk Club in Wales http://www.folkwales.org.uk/folk.html and the Tump Folk Club, Nr Rugby on Thursday 27th July, which meets at the Royal British Legion, Heath Lane, Brinklow, Nr Rugby, Warwickshire from 8:15 to 11:15 p.m.

If you're not on holiday and are in either area, why not give us a whirl?

PS Please someone give me advice on the blue clicky business. I've followed instructions, but can't get it to work.

Many people seem to have trouble with the blue clicky but the instructions seem straightforward to me and I can't think of a way to describe it on the forum that would be better than the actual instructions as given.

I could probably talk you through it easier than describe it in writing Lynne.

If you haven't cracked it by Sidmouth I'll be there for some of the time between Tuesday and Thursday so I'll see if I can catch you then and demonstrate the esoteric art.

Oh, and the Blue Clicky thingy as well!

Perhaps it's because I don't know what a text URL is. I thought it was the website address. Am I wrong? I type in the website address where it says 'text URL' then I type in the website address again where it says Link Text (optional).

I find it's best to copy the URL from the bowser into the Link URL Field in case you make mistakes with the typing and in the Link Test field you can pu anything you like.

So in the example below I copied a URL http://www.walthamstowfolk.co.uk/ from the Browser into the URL field and put Walthmatow Folk into the optional text field to get the link then cut and past into the message as directed

I guess that if you are typing the URL you may be leaving out the http:// bit which could be the problem

Yes, here I just typed www.walthamstowfolk.co.uk without the http:// bit and it failed, perhaps the description should emphasise that you need the http:// part. I automatically assumed it but clearly not all do.

Golly gosh! Llantrisant Folk Club takes GREAT pleasure in welcoming both of you, Lynne and Pat, tonight. Olly and I have been on our travels to the Essex coast, and Pat's busy dancing in Asturies, Northern Spain, so I've just tuned in to see what's going on. (My mother, who's 83, bless her, has just bought a computer and, with Olly's help and guidance, is busy surfing the net. Mum's house is now on-line, so I'll sneak a look on Mudcat from time to time!)

Just out of interest in the mis-spelled subject (Sorry, Lynne!): Llan-tri-sant is the parish of the three saints, the Breton saint Gwynno and the Welsh saints Dyfodwg and Illtyd. Dyfodwg and Illtyd left their names scattered around (i.e. the village of Llandyfodwg, and the coastal town of Llantwit Major and the inland village of Llantwit Fardre, which are both English corruptions: Llanilltyd Fawr, where the first college was set up, and Llanilltyd Faerdref.

Incidentally, Llantwit Fardre, which is about four miles from here, is the home of Gwynt y Ddraig, who produce several cracking ciders and marvellous perries - excellent stuff!

To Dr Price.The answer is no, i guess its a bit like waitng for the no 53 bus, its probably coming but you dont know when. I recently made enquires on this subject to the appropriate quarters and I was told it should be on its way soon.Mean while I need a new gearbox ETC.If I have not received anything after six months, I shall employ different tactics. Glad your both alright, regards to ollie.

You forgot Swan Cider, which is brewed in a shed in Swan Street, Llantrisant! Dave Jones is the man here. At Clytha Arms Cider and Perry Exhibition, Dave won the Cider Competion. This cider excites the taste buds with its enthralling, enticing sweet tang. Dave Matthews (of Seidr Dai) deserves a mention also.
