OK folks, the waiting is just about over - them Cara lads have a new CD coming out, should be available in September BUT you can hear samples from all the tracks NOW through the website.

I have to say that IMHO it's brill, but then maybe I am a wee bit biased - so have a listen and judge for yourselves. Oaklet, Mike and John should be very proud of their work.

These guys make terrific music and I often play the three CDs I already have. Looking forward to the new one lads but have been unable to access the new CD on the site..perhaps something to do with my computer.

It doesn't stream right to me. I get a few seconds of music, a blip, and a few seconds of silence... over and over. What I did hear only whetted my appetite fr more of their tunes.

These guys are talent... read the reviews by the world famous music critics quoted on their site.

Actually, they are better than good -and if you book them you will get a great evenings entertainment-so to recap ------ they are good the CD is very good and book them and they will be -well excellent really!

Don't forget the grand concert in November with Cara, Hissyfit and the Punch The Horse big band. Hodgson's in Beverley on Nov 11th.

A pub band that is indeed resinable, especially given the squeaky violin outrage of a few years back. I once used resin as a talent substitute, and got my hand stuck to the bow. It's good to smoke, err, so I'm told.

I did not say they were bad. I just think you folks should show a little restraint in the fulsome girlish glee that you use to decribe them .I have heard they play live twice, and as a fiddler I know that all three of them would struggle to hold their own in an average ITM session.

Irish Thoroughbred Marketing "ITM"
- a division of Horse Racing Ireland - was established by the Irish Government in order to promote Ireland as a premier source of thoroughbred horses.

Allegedly they are all hung like horses which allowed entry to ITM sessions and they kept up remarkably well so am am told.

Something I realized a few years ago is this: There is a great deal of jealousy in the music business. A great deal of back stabbing, a great deal of under-cutting. Time for people to grow up. Just because someone else is good doesn't mean that you are bad.

David is one hell of a fiddle/violin player. Cara does beautiful music. If they do a 'song' I don't care for amongst a bunch I think are great/inspiring/sentimental and tear-provoking, I would have to be a real arse to comment on the song I didn't like as though it was representative of their work.

I get particularly disgusted with people who take shots from a bush--that is, under the guise of anonymity (sp?). But something else I realized too: Cara has many good CDs out, and as long as they continue to play and produce music, I will be a happy camper listening to their stuff, and pfffffttt to those who have nasty shit to say about them.

One of my all-time favourite songs was done by Lacy J Dalton, and it says it all.
