I have the recording of this tune by 2 separate Bluegrass Bands: Dan Paisley & The Southern Grass and also by "Nothin Fancy". There is no mention of any author. I spoke to Dan at a recent festival and he said he first heard it in the early 1950s in Baltimore done by a man called Charlie Moore, who did not claim to be the author. If anyone has any information on the authorship of this song I would appreciate it.
