I have Ron Kavana's CD "Home Fire". In the liner notes, he says: "The first verse was prompted by Dick Gaughan's brilliant singing of FOUR GREEN FIELDS...." The following lyrics are copied from the CD liner notes; I have also listened to the song and verified that the transcription is accurate.
