A lovely programme remembering the Irish pub in London famous for its music. Recently demolished to make way for the new Arsenal football stadium. Lovely archive material but it may fall off the replayer tomorrow, so catch it while you can!

The Favourite is where I and many others (like Reg Hall, Jimmy Power, Lucy Farr, Peta Webb, Bob Davenport, assorted visiting Dubliners and Planxty people) spent Sunday lunchtimes in the 1970s. Hard to realise it hasn't been a session pub since 1980 (I came back from a year in Germany to find it was no more) and never will be again.

Here's a less convoluted link:

Thanks Diane I don't know what I did wrong with the link, I was just trying to work it out but you beat me to it!

There are still Irish pubs in London where you can get your cheque cashed &c more like community centres than pubs in a way.

When cutting and pasting a link it's as well to cut'n'paste all of it:

The above rebuke was addressed to myself, not to F!

I think my replayer jumps back to Radio Scotland, it's an ex-pat like me I expect....

Thanks for the link Countess! I too fondly remember many trips up there to listen and to play with some great musicians in the 70s. Somewhere I still have an LP of music from The Favourite.
