Subject: A Mermaid Song From: fionnuala25@yahoo.com Date: 08 Mar 99 - 07:08 PM I am trying to find the words and music to a wonderful mermaid song, the words as best as I can remember: My Jack was a young man when he went to sea All the young ladies go kiss him goodbye He was barely a child of twenty and three Oh kiss him young ladies, and tell him for me He can marry the mermaid that lives in the sea Tell him young ladies go tell him for me He can marry the mermaid that lives in the sea. After a bit of that the singer develops an "attitude" in her voice as she sings about what happend.... So he sends back a note with his best friend for me "May I marry the mermaid that lives in the sea?" And I say "Yes!" My Jack met a mermaid when he went to sea But he left all his gold and his best friend with me Now he wails on the rocks for he's found much to late That the creatures of land and of sea... CANNOT MATE! A very funny song obviously...I would appreciate any help on this. (click for lyrics) |
