Apologies if this duplicates an existing thread but I did do a search first, honest!

This year's listener's vote is for your favourite ever track (nice narrow field to choose from then!).

Listener's Vote Here

I've voted for Gallant Hussar by Eliza Carthy and the Ratcatchers.

Last year's listeners' vote was for the most influential folk album. I'm not sure whether the winning album was just based on numbers of voters, or whether a panel of experts made the decision, based on thei opinion of its influence on folk music. Conceivably they could have done the latter (does anyone know?)

But presumably this year it will have to be simply based on which track gets the most votes, as I can't see any other way of deciding.

Very difficult to decide - I'll need to have a think...

You are only allowed to vote for Kate Rusby, Show of Hands or Christy Moore, take my word.

Ee, Eric, that's a reet bugger.

But at least it's better than having to vote for Blair or Bush or Paisley or [insert name here]

I thought Eric would be right, or near enough right, but not so, it seems to be an actual "You choose your own favourite" vote.

As the adjacent tag says [about something else] there's a first time for everything. I'll have to give it a think.

Since it doesn't say I can't, I might as well vote for one of mine, as no-one else will. Or is that wasting a vote, like voting for the Loony party in a safe New Labour or Tory seat?

Still trying to work out how the hell to decide which one track is my favourite. I like a hell of a lot of them!

If you've ever workrd out your eight desert island discs, you have a short list.

I never have worked that out, I don't expect to be on a desert island in the foreseeable future, and if I do, I doubt very much I'll find a gramophone there, knowing my luck :-(

Naughty Ted! You'll have read, no doubt, that repeated voting or block voting for a track/artist will get them barred

So the way to remove someone you don't like from the running, is simply to vote for them a few times from the same email address. This seems a bit too easy!
