I only know portions of this song. I've not had any luck looking on the Internet, and though I know some female vocalist sings it on one of my CDs and tapes, I can't put my hands on it.

Here's a portion of the lyrics to the song I'm thinking of:

If so, I'm going to continue looking. If the lyrics aren't posted by tomorrow, I can probably get the lyrics from someone I know who sings in a church choir and another person I know who conducts a church choir.

I still can't find that CD. But, thanks to Joe's post, I remembered these lyrics. I'll write all the lyrics that I remember them:

Btw, the song's correct name is "I'm His Child".

I have a recording of this song from the Mississippi Mass Choir, cir 1984, live at Ole Miss. It is one of the most powerful songs I have every heard.
