Subject: Origins: Song about Xmas & WWI From: GUEST,blt Date: 26 Nov 06 - 02:10 AM I'm looking for information about a song and the singer/songwriter. It's about WWI, when a truce was declared at Xmas and the Germans and I think the British came together to visit, sing, celebrate. I just can't remember the name of the song (although I know both it and the songwriter are well known). Thanks for any help you can give me. |
Subject: RE: Origins: Song about Xmas & WWI From: Joe Offer Date: 26 Nov 06 - 02:22 AM Hi, BLT - I bet you're thinking about John McCutcheon's Christmas in the Trenches. At the top of this thread, I put crosslinks to threads on that song and a few others on the topic. -Joe- |
