Willow Macky passed away in the early hours of the morning, Sunday 10th December 2006.
She was 85.
Willow was in Britain in the early 60s and her photo and an article on Folk song in NZ were included in the EFDS 'folk' publication No3 dated Jan 1963. She was amongst singers performing at the 4th Festival of British Folk Music in 1962.
A funeral will be held on Wednesday, but arrangements are still to be made.

Willow Mackay's funeral will be held at Kohimarama Presbyterian Church,
34, Kohimarama Road, Auckland, at 11am on Wednesday 13th December.

Unfortunately, that will be about teatime, Tuesday on Mudcat time and 10pm GMT so I suspect that only her friends in Auckland will be there.
Does anyone from those days remember her as a singer?
I never met her and she wasn't at any of the festivals I attended but she was a legend in her own lifetime. Contemporaries at the 1962 festival included Hamish Henderson, Fred Jordan, Peter Kennedy and the Liverpool Spinners. Not many left!
