Subject: Miskin Mummers Playwrights From: Schantieman Date: 18 Dec 06 - 11:18 AM Right then - down to business. Do we want to base it on the same characters/theme etc. as last year or be completely new? (I still have the play somewhere...) Who's involved? Same as last year? Anyone can't make it? Who else wants to play? If too many, maybe we should have a 'chorus' in the Greek style - in view of GP being booked....... ...and when are we going to do it? Maybe Andy can help us here? Sunday afternoon worked well last year, but I shall have to be away for a few hours on Saturday to take my daughter to Bristol. Are we going to take costumes & props with us or make them there? Volunteers to organise these please. I can type and photocopy the script (I'll double space it to leave room for last minute/second alterations). Steve |
Subject: RE: Miskin Mummers Playwrights From: Geoff the Duck Date: 18 Dec 06 - 12:27 PM I'm not sure, Steve. There is a lot to be said for writing it on the spot. Keeps it fresh and topical. It makes sense for the performers to be the the ones who decide what is funny or clever. What works on computers isn't the same as a good visual performance. Quack! Geoff. |
Subject: RE: Miskin Mummers Playwrights From: Schantieman Date: 18 Dec 06 - 12:57 PM True enough. A bit like all those jokes about that Russian spy and the radioactive isoptope - only half as funny in three months' time. It was fun actually writing it - this might turn it into work! S |
Subject: RE: Miskin Mummers Playwrights From: MBSLynne Date: 18 Dec 06 - 02:27 PM I'd like to be in it again I think, and so would RAT-W. Too much forward planning could spoil it I think. Love Lynne |

How about a good old British compromise... All go away and write just a few funny/clever/topical words to be sorted and combined at the time? See yoooze Andy |
