"Grandma got run over by a reindeer" and "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" both mention Santa, even though he doesn't appear in the title. Are you only looking fro songs with Santa Claus in the title?

In the UK, Santa Claus more often used to be called "Father Christmas". I'm not sure that's still true these days though. There was a song by the Goodies called "Father Christmas Do Not Touch Me". Dunno if this counts though?

I am Santa!

Santa's Favorite Songs

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

You better watch out
You better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town

He's making a list,
And checking it twice;
Gonna find out who's naughty and nice.
Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake!

O! You better watch out!
You better not cry.
Better not pout, I'm telling you why.
Santa Claus is coming to town.
Santa Claus is coming to town.

J. Fred Coots, Henry Gillespie (c) 1934

Here Comes Santa Claus

Here comes Santa Claus!
Here comes Santa Claus!
Right down Santa Claus Lane!
Vixen and Blitzen and all his reindeer
are pulling on the reins.
Bells are ringing, children singing;
All is merry and bright.
Hang your stockings and say your prayers,
'Cause Santa Claus comes tonight.

Here comes Santa Claus!
Here comes Santa Claus!
Right down Santa Claus Lane!
He's got a bag that is filled with toys
for the boys and girls again.
Hear those sleigh bells jingle jangle,
What a beautiful sight.
Jump in bed, cover up your head,
'Cause Santa Claus comes tonight
Gene Autry, Oakley Haldeman (c) 1947

Up On The House Top

1.Up on the housetop
reindeer pause,
Out jumps good old Santa Claus.
Down thru' the chimney
with lots of toys,
All for the little ones,
Christmas joys.
Ho, ho, ho!
Who wouldn't go!
Ho, ho, ho!
Who wouldn't go!
Up on the housetop,
click, click, click,
Down thru' the chimney
with good Saint Nick.

2.First comes the stocking
of little Nell,
Oh, dear Santa
fill it well;
Give her a dolly
that laughs and cries
One that will open
and shut her eyes.
Ho, ho, ho!

3.Who wouldn't go!
Ho, ho, ho!
Who wouldn't go!
Up on the housetop,
click, click, click,
Down thru' the chimney
with good Saint Nick.

Jolly Old Saint Nicholas

Jolly old Saint Nicholas,
lean your ear this way!
Don't you tell a single soul
what I'm going to say:
Christmas Eve is coming soon;
now, you dear old man
Whisper what you'll bring to me;
tell me if you can.

When the clock is striking twelve,
when I'm fast asleep
Down the chimney, broad and black,
with your pack you'll creep
All the stockings you will find
hanging in a row
Mine will be the shortest one,
you'll be sure to know

Bobby wants a pair of skates,
Suzy wants a sled
Nellie wants a picture book,
yellow, blue, and red
Now I think I'll leave to you
what to give the rest
Choose for me, dear Santa Claus;
you will know the best.

Must Be Santa
Who's got a beard that's long and white
Santa's got a beard that's long and white

Who comes around on a special night
Santa comes around on a special night

Special Night, beard that's white

Must be Santa
Must be Santa
Must be Santa, Santa Clause

Who wears boots and a suit of red
Santa wears boots and a suit of red

Who wears a long cap on his head
Santa wears a long cap on his head

Cap on head, suit that's red
Special night, beard that's white

Must be Santa
Must be Santa
Must be Santa, Santa Clause

Who's got a big red cherry nose
Santa's got a big red cherry nose

Who laughs this way HO HO HO
Santa laughs this way HO HO HO

HO HO HO, cherry nose
Cap on head, suit that's red
Special night, beard that's white

Must be Santa
Must be Santa
Must be Santa, Santa Clause
Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer
You know Dasher and Dancer
And Prancer and Vixen,
Comet and Cupid
And Donner and Blitzen.
But do you recall
The most famous reindeer of all?

Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer
(reindeer)
Had a very shiny nose
(like a light bulb)
And if you ever saw it
(saw it)
You would even say it glows
(like a flash light)
All of the other reindeer
(reindeer)
Used to laugh and call him names
(like Pinochio)
They never let poor Rudolph
(Rudolph)
Play in any reindeer games
(like Monopoly)

Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say
(Ho Ho Ho)
Rudolph with your nose so bright
Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?
Then all the reindeer loved him
(loved him)
And they shouted out with glee
(yippee)
"Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer
(reindeer)
You'll go down in history!"
(like Columbus)
Johnny Marks (c) 1949

Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer

Grandma got run over by a reindeer.
Walking home from our house Christmas eve.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa,
but as for me and grandpa we believe.
She'd been drinking too much eggnog,
and we begged her not to go.
But she forgot her medication, and she
staggered out the door into the snow.
When we found her Christmas morning,
at the scene of the attack,
she had hoof-prints on her forehead,
and incriminating Claus marks on her back.

Grandma got run over by a reindeer.
Walking home from our house Christmas eve.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa,
but as for me and grandpa we believe.

Now we're all so proud of grandpa,
He's been taking this so well.
See him in there watching football,
drinking root beer and
playing cards with Cousin Mel.
It's not Christmas without Grandma,
All the family's dressed in black
and we just can't help but wonder:
Should we open up her gifts,
or send them back?
Send them back!!

Grandma got run over by a reindeer.
Walking home from our house Christmas eve.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa,
but as for me and grandpa we believe.

Nuttin' For Christmas

I broke my bat on Johnny's head;
Somebody snitched on me.
I hid a frog in sister's bed;
Somebody snitched on me.
I spilled some ink on Mommy's rug;
I made Tommy eat a bug;
Bought some gum with a penny slug;
Somebody snitched on me.

Oh, I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas
Mommy and Daddy are mad.
I'm getting nuttin' for Christmas
'Cause I ain't been nuttin' but bad.

I put a tack on teacher's chair
somebody snitched on me.
I tied a knot in Susie's hair
somebody snitched on me.
I did a dance on Mommy's plants
climbed a tree and tore my pants
Filled the sugar bowl with ants
somebody snitched on me.

So, I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas
Mommy and Daddy are mad.
I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas
'Cause I ain't been nuttin' but bad.

I won't be seeing Santa Claus;
Somebody snitched on me.
He won't come visit me because
Somebody snitched on me.
Next year I'll be going straight;
Next year I'll be good, just wait
I'd start now, but it's too late;
Somebody snitched on me.

I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus

I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus
Underneath the mistletoe last night.
She didn't see me creep
down the stairs to have a peep;
She thought that I was tucked
up in my bedroom fast asleep.
Then, I saw Mommy tickle Santa Claus
Underneath his beard so snowy white;
Oh, what a laugh it would have been
If Daddy had only seen
Mommy kissing Santa Claus last night.

and as sung in The Royal at Dungworth during the Carol Season -

Who comes this way, so blithe and gay
Upon this merry Christmas day?
So merrily, so cheerily,
with his peaked hat and his reindeer sleigh,
With pretty toys for girls and boys,
As pretty as you e'er did see,
Oh welcome Santa Claus's man,
Kris Kringle with a Christmas tree.

His sleigh bells ring, with a merry ching,
As o'er the roofs the reindeers spring.
Gee up, gee ho! How swift they go,
Over the ice, and the drifts of snow;
For he must call on one and all,
His master's pretty pets to see,
For welcome Santa Claus's man,
Kris Kringle, with the Christmas tree.

With cakes and plums, trumpets and drums,
and lots of pretty things, he comes.
So now be quick your places take,
And all a merry circle make;
For now he's near, he'll soon appear,
And his jolly face you'll see,
Oh, welcome Santa Claus's man,
Kris Kringle, with the Christmas tree.

chorus
Yo, ho! Oh, ho! Yo, ho! Oh, ho!
Yo, ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho, ho, ho!
And jingle, jingle, jing-a-jing-a-jing
Right merry shall you be,
And jingle, jingle, he comes this way,
He comes with the Christmas tree;
And welcome, welcome, welcome Kris,
Right welcome shall you be,
Oh, here he is, yes, yes, he is
'Tis Kris with the Christmas tree,
The Christmas tree, the Christmas tree,
The Christmas tree, the Christmas tree.

I wrote one for a small musical a few years ago put on by a rehab group
"Santa's Lament"... which is a story of Santa losing his memory and wondering what special day is approaching that he can't remember..
It's somewhere between 'This Christmas Tree's got no Balls', 'Why is Rudolf's Nose so Red? (juvenile wino)"
and the more serious 'Homeless in Bethlehem' which is posted in the Mudcat archives...

Me and Santa, We've Got An Understandin'
By Reggie Miles © 2008

Me and Santa we've got an understandin'

While he's workin' in his toy shop, all year long
I'll be hangin' round here, just a singin' this song
Can havin' this much fun really be so wrong?
Yep, me and Santa we've got an understandin'

As he packs up his sleigh, full of all sorts of toys
For all those good little girls and boys
I'll be strummin' my guitar 'n' makin' some noise
Cuz me and Santa we've got an understandin'

Me and Santa we've got an understandin'

Santa understands I'm too busy to lend a hand
Each year as Christmas time draws near
So, he and the elves will have to fill those toy shelves themselves
Besides, I think that I'm allergic to reindeer

Then on Christmas Eve, late at night
When Santa and his reindeer take to the sky in flight
I'll be safe on the ground, hopin' everything goes alright
Cuz me and Santa we've got an understandin'

And while he's surfing the clouds on his midnight ride
With my warm cup of cocoa I'll stay inside
And sit by the fire and rock and glide
Cuz me and Santa we've got an understandin'

Me and Santa we've got an understandin'

Santa understands I'm too busy to lend a hand
Each year as Christmas time draws near
He knows I'm all thumbs when it comes to tyin' ribbon bows
And besides, I think that I'm allergic to reindeer (Ah-choo!)

While he's out there freezin' off his big behind
Slippin' on every icy roof line
I'll be chuggin' mugs of eggnog and feelin' real fine
Cuz me and Santa we've got an understandin'

When he's slidin' along on the snow and ice
Makin' his list and checkin' it twice
I'll be tryin' to remember if I was more naughty or nice
Cuz me and Santa we've got an understandin'

Me and Santa we've got an understandin'

Santa understands that makin' sleigh ride flight plans
Just gets me all weak in the knees
He knows, I'm no good with heights and untanglin' Christmas lights
And reindeer make me sneeze (Ahchoo!)

And as he streaks through the heavens, his cheeks all rosy red
I'll be nestled all toasty tucked away in my bed
With visions of sugar plum fairies dancin' round my head
Cuz me and Santa we've got an understandin'

As he's stuffin' his big belly down all those chimney flues
And scarfin' up his milk and cookie dues
I'll be pickin' and singin' these ol' Yuletide blues
Cuz me and Santa we've got an understandin'

Me and Santa we've got an understandin'

Subject: The Santa Claus Blues
From: GUEST,Epp
Date: 04 Sep 17 - 03:58 PM

Does anyone know the lyrics to "The Santa Claus Blues" ? There are 2 recording of Louis Armstrong doing it on Youtube. One extremely slow and I've always heard it up-tempo.

There are parts of it understand, and parts for the life of me I can't

Seems like there are 2 different versions of the chorus(mostly how it ends).

If anybody knows the verse that would be ice cream on the cake, but for now, I'd be happy to get the correct lyrics (that is, please fill in the Question Marks !

This is what I know of it and what I've heard when I heard it performed live.

" No Money, No Honey, to buy a present for me.
Nobody, No Toddy, to make things pleasant for me.

Last night my stockin' was hung,
Just like, when I was young,
Woke up this mornin', there was a vacancy.

No minglin', No jinglin' toys,
No pickin' on chicken, ??????????.

(First Time) Soon I'll hear the Christmas Chimes,
That just means more hard times. ???????????
I've got the Santa Claus Blues.

(Second Time) Seems like every now and then,
The poor house pages me again. ???????????
I've got the Santa Claus Blues.

From elsewhere on the 'Cat:

SANTA'S (REDS) BLUES
Nigel Parsons 30/11/12
ttto Winter Wonderland: Felix Bernard (1897-1944)

From the whole of December.
There's some things I'll remember.
A cute little elf
Amusing himself
(I'm) spending Christmas in my overalls.
I'm on show in a grotto
They won't let me get blotto.
With cotton wool snow,
And my red 'babygrow'
(I'm) spending Christmas in my overalls.

Last year I though I'd give this job a go, man.
Spend the whole of Christmas sitting down.
The grotto has some robins and a snowman
And me in a bright scarlet dressing-gown.

Later on I'll perspire
As I sit by the fire
I'm getting quite wet
From the build-up of sweat
Spending Christmas in my overalls

Next year I think I'd rather be the snowman,
With carrot nose and overalls of white.
The kids don't pull the beard of Mr Snowman,
But Snowman says the pay is really shi...light!

When it snows, ain't it thrilling,
That the kids are so willing,
To suspend disbelief
And cause Santa grief,
Playing in my Winter Wonderland?

As I wait for the New Year,
There'll be nothing to do here.
But somehow I fear,
That this time next year
I'll be spending Christmas in my overalls.

Jogging Along With My Reindeer (John Kirkpatrick)

In the wintertime, when it‟s cold and wet and nasty,
You need someone to cheer you up, so I‟ll tell you what to do,
Give yourselves a party, with lots to eat and lots to drink,
And then just leave the rest to Father Christmas.

Chorus:
Jogging along with my reindeer, up above so high,
Jogging along with my reindeer, riding through the sky;
And every time I pass a house with little boys and girls,
I choose a present and scramble down the chimney.

Now, I live on top of the world, where nobody ever can find me,
It‟s cold and frosty all of the time, so I work to keep me warm, Goodwill to Men
Banging about in my toy shop, with never a pause and never a stop,
I have to see that things are ready for Christmas.
Chorus:

Now, when Christmas comes around, I harness up my reindeer,
I load my sleigh, and I‟m on my way a-singing through the stars,
I pick out your roof when you‟re fast asleep,
And down to your bedroom I do creep,
I‟ll fill your stocking and wish you a merry Christmas.
Chorus:

Now, some people they will say that there‟s really no such person,
They watch the telly, they read the news, and they don‟t care nothing of me;
„Cause I never let anyone see me, but if you‟re good, now REALLY good,
Then perhaps one day you might just hear me singing.
Chorus:
