I'm not sure how this works, but someone ought to write a song about this one. I'll probably give it a crack when I'm not so sleep deprived,; but it was too good to not share.

Just had an amazingly awful series of flights with Delta Airlines, four out of four flights on this last trip were at least two hours late, with the crowning glory being the 12:40 p.m flight that took off at 11:15 pm instead. It's amazing the reawsons flights weren't getting off the ground (you hear a lot during 11 hours of terminal time) Maintanencce, no crew, delays in paperwork, over weight planes (they actually ditch luggage or passengers or both) paperwork troubles, gate troubles, fog elsewhere, My favorite was the flight from JFK to Dullas which actually flew, but they advised people to use the bathroom in the airport as the one on the plane was not working.   I was flying with my 79 year old Mom who is spry and smart and wonderful, I got home at 3 a.m. and she got home at 2;45 a.m. The high point was when we finally got to the bar for a beer and saw that wonderful Delta logo "Make way for a new experience: Delta! Almost spit out our beer laughing. Anyway, if anyone wants to take on the Delta Blues and write something for the Sky Team, I'd love to see it.

Oh, I guess there is a reason why Delta is in Chapter 11.

Susan A-R who is now going off to nam with the cat.

Delta airlines are O.K...they always land somewhere near the airport.
They always ask where you would like to sit..(I always ask to sit on the black box). When asked height and position..one pilot said "I'm 5'6" and at the front of the plane. I asked the in-flight attendant if their planes crash often.....she said "NO only once"! What more could you want.

Flying with the Delta, flying round the USA,
Flying with the Delta, flying round the USA,
Leaving in the morning, hoping to arrive some day.

Well I woke up this morning, Delta blues was on my mind,(X2)
When I landed here, found they'd left my luggage behind.

Flew me down to Dallas, left my luggage in JFK
Yes they flew me down to Dallas, luggage still in JFK,
Well they tell me it aint lost, just mislocated for a day.

Aint got no clean shirt, no clean socks or drawers,(X2)
Smell like a Jackass an' everybody knows the cause.

Flying with the Delta, A New Experience they say,(X2)
Man, I'll take the old one, it was better any day.

I'm through with travelling, gonna stay at home and cry(X2)
If I have to travel theres no way I'm gonna fly.

So I'm walkin' to Missouri, just the way the old song say,
Walkin' to Missouri, just like Ole Guy Mitchell say,
This robin's broke and busted courtesy of Delta USA.

That the sort of thing you had in mind Susan? I am writing this in the Uk, but I empathise with you, In the last few years every internal journey , even in a country as small as ours, is a whole new adventure.

Oh I started out a rich girl, but Delta's brought me here (3 x)
While I waited for that big bird, spent it all on airport beer.

Thanks Brian!!

I truly believe the real problem is the number of employees who call in "sick" or better yet show up intoxicated.

Many years ago I flew on New Year's Eve with an extremely intoxicated flight attendant who insisted on getting on the intercom and going on and on with maudlin thoughts about the New Year. Her fellow attendanats couldn't keep her in her seat. Wonder if she got written up? Fortunately, we did not have an emergency.

Missed you, Susan. Happy New Year!

I got a feelin' called the blu-u-u-u-ues,
Since with Delta I did fly.
And I don't know what to do-o-o-o,
All I do is sit and cryeyeyeyey,
Oh Lordy, since my luggage said goodbye,
When it travelled to the Isle of Skyeyey.
They ditched me, they took you,
So now they've got a problem,
And eleven hours, I've been waiting,
Berating, hoping we could take off.
I've got those Delta Blues!

Brian Q ( Flash Company) that is a superb piece of writing.

I am reading it and hearing the melody (and the guitar fills )as we speak.

I'm maybe being picky, but perhaps we should make it 'Smellin' like a pole-cat', I rather like donkeys.
Murray- Behave, my wife says that my head is big enough already!
Actually, that one just flowed, you get subjects like that occasionally.

Sorch, the traditional way to get the beer in there is through the mouth. At least that's what I like to do.
