Subject: Tech: No Gmail & no eBay.....Why??? From: Fergie Date: 12 Jan 07 - 04:18 PM Hi all I always find answers for my tech probs amongst the Mudcatters. My problem this time is that for some reason over the past few days I cannot get my PC to connect with Gmail or eBay, all my other favourites such as Mudcat connect as normal but when I try to enter my Gmail or eBay accounts my screen acts as usual but just takes so long that eventually my PC times out. I have run Spybot and Adaware but they can not detect anything. Any Ideas? Fergus |

Subject: RE: Tech: No Gmail & no eBay.....Why??? From: JohnInKansas Date: 12 Jan 07 - 08:41 PM If your 'puter was set up to "remember login name" and/or "remember passwords" so that you got logged in automatically, but the 'puter has forgotten the passwords or they've gotten mangled, it may be sending "login info" that isn't working. A good site would tell you "incorrect login, try again," but some places - of the generic character similar perhaps to Gmail and eBay - just drop the connection and ignore you when an automatic login fails. This results in a timeout error. Sometimes going to the login page and manually entering your credentials will correct the problem. No guarantees, but it sounds like that kind of situation. John |
